"So, would you like to share what happened yesterday and why you ended up in your ex-husband's bed, huh?"
"Jackeline!" I couldn't help but snap at my best friend when she found me in the kitchen the next morning.
"What? Why? Didn't you?" She returned the snap as she raised an eyebrow.
"Jack... I... I ---"
"You ended up lying in his bed, didn't you?"
"Jesus Christ, Jackeline!" I glared at her upon hearing what she added.
But she just gave me a mischievous laugh as she walked around the kitchen counter and slumped onto the high chair. She even crossed her arms over her chest.
"Cali might hear you, for God's sake!"
"Ohh... but I think she wouldn't mind even if she finds out that you and her father are trying again to make a baby and give her a little brother or it could be a sister," she shrugged ignoring the tone I gave her.
"Jesus Christ!" I couldn't help tapping my forehead in a bit of annoyance.
"Aw, come on, Samantha! I wasn't born yesterday so don't tell me nothing happened between the two of you yesterday! Your hair and lipstick were a complete mess and not to mention he wasn't wearing anything when he opened the door!"
"Hey! He was shirtless--- yes, but he still had his pants on when you walked in---" but she interrupted me.
"Still had his pants on --- which I'm sure he had also taken off when we left you alone, duh!"
"Oh, God--- why don't you just scream so everybody in the house can hear you?" I asked slapping her arm which was resting on the table but she just laughed again. "Something came up, I mean, someone came out of the blue and that was why I ran to find him---"
"And sleep with him--- ouch!" I gave her another slap and this time it was a bit stronger than earlier.
"Jack! I mean it!"
It took her a few seconds before she finally stopped laughing.
"Fine! Go ahead, I'm listening!" she rolled her eyes. "So who was that someone who came out of the blue as you were saying?"
I heaved a long, loud sigh before answering her question.
"Lucy,"
"Lucy?" she repeated, frowning.
"Uhuh,"
"Lucy?" this time she repeated a little louder and I nodded. "Did I hear it right--- Lucy as in Lucy, the girl who showed you photos--- evidence of Luke's cheating --- argh! whatsoever?"
"Yup, it's her,"
"Okay, but what did she talk to you about?" she scoffed. "Don't tell me it's to take back everything she told you about Luke before?"
"Well... that's exactly what she did."
"Jeez!"
"She told me those were all lies and that she had just done such things out of anger and jealousy."
"Oh, goodness! What was she--- a crazy horrible human being to create such lies and destroy someone else's relationship and because of what--- jealousy? Gosh!"
I just sighed in response.
"So did she just fly to Los Angeles to tell you those things or did she ask you something?"
"No, she said she only came for that,"
"And you listened to her?"
I nodded.
"Without doing anything to her, I mean, didn't you slap her, scratch her or even pull out all of her hair so you could at least get revenge for all the things she did to you?"
"Haist! What's the point of doing such things when I know she's now suffering from all the things she had done to me? Well, I'm not saying she deserves it---"
