~~~Tables finally turned. I told you so, oh, I told you so. I told you someday you'd come crawling back and asking me to take you in. I told you so, but you had to go. Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again...~~~
SAMANTHA'S POV:
Mom and Dad's wedding was happily held yesterday. It was just a simple celebration together with all the family members and their closest friends. Of course, Luke and his family, my former in-laws were also invited.
Dale gave them a two-week honeymoon package in Hawaii as a gift to them, while I also gave them another two-week vacation in the Philippines. Honestly, I didn't know that Dale and I had the same gift for them, but thanks to David who suggested me that the Philippines is one of the tropical countries with the most beautiful beaches not just in Asia but in the world.
My mom was a former surfer athlete when she was younger, so I think she would have loved to see the teardrop-shaped island of Siargao in Surigao del Norte in the Philippines. David told me that in addition to being the surf capital of the country, it also has white sand beaches, beautiful sunsets and natural rock and cave pools that Dad will definitely love.
They first went to Hawaii right after the celebration ended at 9:30 pm and used my dad's private jet.
So the next morning, I wasn't that surprised when I woke up alone in the bedroom and at home. Mom and Dad were on a honeymoon vacation, Jack told me she has another friend-date with Paul, Dale has work and he took Cali with him because the little girl wanted to see his Blight. Who is Blight? It's Dale's pet fish... a Platinum Arowana in which I've heard of is the most expensive fish that exists not just in America but in the world.
As I remembered, Dale told me that this fish has been introduced as the costliest creature people will ever buy. It is the rarest animal that people have ever treasured. I saw it once when I visit to visit him in his office and since I'm not a fan of fish or any sea creature, no matter how I stared at it in its aquarium, I really don't get it why it has been considered the most expensive fish apart from its white colour.
And when Cali heard about it, she got easily intrigued and excited to see the white fish, so she asked her Uncle Dale to take her to the office with him. He promised the kid that he will buy her, her own pet, but since he's still looking for a new one, he decided to take his niece with him to teach her how to feed the sea creature. Now it's her second day in the office with her Uncle and I'm sure this won't be the last.
Before going to bed last night, I already told the maids to take the day off the next day because I know they were all tired of assisting the guests during mom and dad's wedding.
After taking a bath, I decided to go down the stairs and cook my lunch. Yeah, lunch because it's already 11:00 in the morning.
"Wow, I didn't know the house could be this peaceful."
I muttered to myself as I walked down the stairs.
"Hmm... what am I going to cook besides from pancakes? Tsk.tsk... seriously, Sam? Pancakes for lunch?" I shook my head as I laughed at myself. "I think I want some chicken. Fried chicken and pasta. Yeah! That's what I'm going to cook and I will add an extra sauce for the guards."
And I started taking all the ingredients out of the fridge while humming one of my favorite Miley Cyrus songs.
"Everybody needs inspiration. Everybody needs a song. A beautiful melody, when the night's so long..."
I even swayed my hips into the invisible music in my head not even caring if there's someone out there... like the guards heard me.
"Cause there is no guarantee that this life is easy..."
I cooked the pasta and the sauce at the same time and since there are already marinated chicken in the fridge, it lessens my cooking time.
"Yeah, when my world is falling apart, when there's no light to break up the dark that's when I... I look at you..."
It took me almost 30 minutes to cook the sauce and I followed the chicken. I also made chocolate dalgona and chocolate wafers for some desserts.
At that moment, I have no idea that someone had parked a car at the gate and was talking to the guards.
When I'm done cooking and preparing them on the table, I took all the utensils I used to the sink and thought about washing them because I know no one would help me to do it since I was just alone in the house.
