Chapter 1100
Chapter 1100
Catelyn had turned off her phone. She was afraid she would be tracked down through her phone. Now she had arrived in Omille City. She got a new SIM card and turned on her phone.
Catelyn turned her phone on as she had the sandwich.
There were lots of unread messages on WhatsApp and Twitter. Messages flooded into her phone like a tidal wave.
Catelyn ignored all the messages except Joanne's.
Joanne sent a few text messages and voice messages.
[Cat, where are you now? Why did you leave without telling any of US? We were all worried about you!]
[Send me a message when you see my message. Tell me you're safe and I'll be relieved.]
[I will not tell Cedrick or your grandmother. Trust me.]
Catelyn listened to the messages in silence and then sent Joanne a message, [I'm fine. Don't worry.]
[Cat?] Immediately, Joanne sent a message as if she had been waiting for Catelyn's message all the time. [Is it really you? Are you okay? What happened? You are going to leave your grandmother, Cedrick, and the two kids behind?"
Catelyn compressed her lips. Certainly, she didn't want to leave them.
But if she didn't run away, she couldn't keep her baby...
She had thought about taking Miles and Ollie with her, but she was afraid Ezekiel would get them.
[It all happened all of a sudden. Please ask no more questions. I'd better not tell you anything.] Catelyn says back.
Joanne was silent for a few seconds and then transferred $100,000 to Catelyn.
[I got a deposit for a new play. This is all the money I have on my card. Use this money when you need it. Take care of yourself and the baby.]
Catelyn was touched and her eyes welled up with tears at Joanne's generous offer. She didn't refuse and accepted the money. She really needed the money at that time. Then she asked Joanne about Cedrick and her grandmother.
They both sent a large number of men to look for Catelyn.
Catelyn realized that she could not stay in Omille City for long.
At night, Catelyn went to a motel that didn't require ID registration. There was a neon sign on the door that read $40 a night.
The hotel smelled musty.
The sheets on the bed were yellowish. The concrete floor had stains on it.
Catelyn had boiled some hot water to keep warm. She lay down on the bed without taking off her clothes.
The hotel was poorly soundproofed.
She could hear a couple arguing in the next room, the TV playing loudly in the opposite room, and the sound of heavy traffic downstairs. She couldn't sleep. She stayed awake all night, tossing and turning in bed and thinking about the people of Sapphire City.
She didn't fall asleep until dawn.
