Chapter 1459

Lucas was motivated. He quickened his pace.

Edwin was sitting alone at his desk. He picked up a picture of Joanne and stroked it with his fingers.

In the picture, Joanne was alone, leaning on the balcony railing, looking into the distance; the setting sun cast her shadow on the floor. Although she was facing the light, her eyes were gloomy.

Edwin regretted his stubbornness in the past. He had hidden Catelyn's daughter in order to find Joanne. But he hadn't considered why Joanne had divorced him.

He had hurt her. Although it was a long time ago and it all seemed to be over, when he looked back at it, it still hurt.

'If I had seen this video earlier, maybe we wouldn't have been separated for so many years...

’Maybe she wouldn't have been wounded so badly...'

Edwin felt a sudden surge of jealousy towards Jack. Jack had been by Joanne's side for the past four years. He had seen Joanne start her life all over, watched her face change, and...

'Yesterday at the clubhouse, Joanne said I killed her. What did she mean?'

Not surprisingly, the video of Edwin being questioned by the media was posted online and made a sensation.

He told the media that Sharon was an insignificant woman. Sharon was humiliated, because she had accused Joanna of getting in between her and Edwin.

All the marketing accounts that had reported Joanna stealing Edwin from Sharon got lawsuits. They were requested to apologize to Joanna and Edwin.

Although the video of Edwin answering media interviews was all over Twitter, Joanne had no idea of it because she got a call from Patrick.

Jack knew he couldn't stop her, so he could only go with her to Mourpa.

Joanne wanted to take a wheelchair, but when she was at the steps, Jack carried her up in his arms straight away.

"What are you doing? Put me down!" Joanne struggled. Some passersby cast eyes at them.

Jack gave a smug smile, "I told you I wouln't let Edwin get the upper hand. I'm going to carry you to the plane!"

"Aren't you afraid of people watching us?" Joanne asked deliberately, giving up her struggle.

"I'm carrying my girlfriend. If people like to watch us, let them watch. You're a beautiful woman and I'm a handsome man. If people don't look at us, it's their loss!" Jack said smugly, "Why don't you put your arms around my neck? I bet you don't work out. You must weigh over a hundred pounds. If my hand slips and drops you down the ground, you can't go back to Mourpa and you'll be sent to the hospital again."

Joanne was annoyed. She ignored him calling her his girlfriend. She argued, "I'm only ninety pounds. You're too weak. Why are you blaming me?"
