Chapter 1551
Chapter 1551
Joanne broke out in a cold sweat. She could even hear her heart pounding with panic.
Just then, a nurse approached, holding a letter.
"Excuse me, are you Joanne Winters? Someone asked me to give this to you."
Joanne snatched the envelope and tore it open.
As she read the contents, her vision blurred and she stumbled backward.
Her head hit the wall with a thud, causing her to cry out in pain. Her heart twisted with worry.
Ada saw Joanne's distress and felt a pang of guilt, distress, and suspicion.
"Whose letter is this? What does it say?"
Ada took the letter from Joanne's hand and read the single sentence inside.
"Your daughter is in my hands."
Ada's face paled. She grabbed the nurse’s hand and asked urgently, "Who gave you this letter? Was he holding a little girl? Where is he now?"
The nurse didn't know, and Ada's grip on her wrist made her frightened. "He gave me a hundred dollars and asked me to give the letter to Ms. Winters. He was wearing a hat and mask, but he wasn't holding any little girl. He must be long gone by now."
Joanne and Ada realized the nurse knew nothing more and rushed to the monitoring room.
They were filled with regret for leaving their Tail alone.
They had thought it would be safe in the hospital as long as Tail didn't wander off.
