Chapter 486
The manager was an Amarican too. When he saw Catelyn, he was slightly surprised.
“Manager, this lady right here is suspected of having stolen something from our store but refuses to hand her bag over for an examination,” the sales associate complained.
Amy was happily onlooking, waiting for the drama.
“Did you just say she stole something?” The manager looked at Catelyn in disbelief.
He looked up and down at Catelyn and did not say anything.
“She is a thief!” Amy saw that the manager did not make any instructions, so she said angrily, “Please search her immediately, make her pay for it!”
‘Men are trash. They could not even move their gaze away once they saw a beautiful woman,’ she thought.
The manager frowned even more. After a few minutes, he walked to the alarm and then fumbled around it for a bit. He then announced to everyone, “This lady here is a woman of class. She will not steal. It is our alarm that is faulty. Madam, you may leave now.”
Catelyn was taken aback by what the manager said too.
She was a woman of class?
She was just one foreign woman in Franche. There was nothing classy about her.
Amy widened her eyes too and blurted out at the manager, “Are you simping for her? Is that why you turn a blind eye? Your alarm is fully functioning. Everyone else could leave, and the alarm did not make a sound, except for her! Where is your boss? Aren’t you afraid that your boss will blame it on you?”
The manager clenched his jaw, then said, “Miss, please be respectful.”
Catelyn could tell that the way he looked at her was not a lusty gaze. Instead, it was somewhat respectful.
She tried her best to recall but was certain that she had not met him before.
Could he be someone that her father knew before?
Perhaps he recognized her as Miss Clark?
