Our Billion-Worth Twins by Velvet Antler novel Chapter 558

Chapter 558

Cedrick was wearing a blue-and-white striped hospital gown. His eyes were closed, his eyelashes curled.

He was connected to an IV drip that hung at his bedside.

The doctor mentioned that he would regain consciousness in the next few days, considering that he was physically fit and active.

Draco originally wanted to bring him back to Amarica, but he was afraid that the news would be leaked and thereby cause economic turmoil, so he changed his mind in the end and decided to wait until Cedrick woke up.

Because of that, Catelyn had the chance to see him.

The nurse was startled when Catelyn showed up on the balcony. She pointed inside, opened the balcony door, and stayed on the balcony on her own, leaving plenty of space for them.

Catelyn looked at the nurse gratefully and quietly approached Cedrick.

Looking at Cedrick's calm but pale face, due to weakness, the intensity and madness he usually sported were all gone.

One of Catelyn's hands clasped her mouth as a mixture of joy and sorrow caused an ache in her heart.

'Thank goodness he's alright! '

She sat on the edge of the bed with her fingertips tracing his jawline, caressing his closed eyes, eyelashes, nose, and his lips.

When her fingertips reached the corner of his lips, she paused for a moment.

She noticed a little cracked wound on the spot, and it had already been scabbed over.

When she was in the car that day, she subconsciously bit his lip when he pushed her out of the car.

"I... I'm sorry, Cedrick. Please wake up for me." Catelyn held his large palm and rubbed it awkwardly for him.

She thought the warmer his hand got, the higher the possibility that he would wake up.

Time passed quickly. Catelyn said that she would leave after a glance, but she had already stayed for a long time and was still reluctant to leave.

After a while, the pain in her body intensified, and she became so tired that she could not open her eyes.

Cedrick jumped out of the car a bit too late and hit his head in the process. His brain was throbbing with pain, even in a coma.

Despite being unconscious, he could feel a soft, warm sensation gently enveloping his hand as though someone was holding it. He could also make out words being spoken to his ear occasionally.

His knuckles moved slightly, and he slowly opened his eyes.

The ward was illuminated by a dim, yellow-tinted light. His gaze slowly moved around and spotted that a pair of soft hands had indeed held onto him.

His back and thighs were in a tear-like pain, which made him take a deep breath involuntarily.
