Catelyn quickly turned on her phone's silent mode.

Since the window of the room was made of one-way glass, Catelyn could see Maia running to the corner.

'She looks like she's texting someone. To whom? Why was she so panicked when she heard the news that Cedrick had woken up?'

"It's alright now, Miss Clark, you can come out." The nurse opened the door of the room for Catelyn, his forehead glistening with sweat.

Catelyn smiled gratefully at him and quickly walked toward Cedrick.

Cedrick lay flat on the bed, feeling someone walk past him, and slowly opened his eyes.

Catelyn passed by him like a thief, lying at the ward's door to eavesdrop on the situation outside the ward.

Her ears seemed to be tinted red as she was too anxious.

Still, the situation was both hilarious and infuriating to Cedrick.

He slowly sat up from the bed while Catelyn was checking if those people were gone. When she turned around and saw him getting up, her eyes sank.

"Why did you get up? The doctor just said that your wounds are serious—"

"I'm thirsty," Cedrick feebly interjected.

Catelyn could not be sure if it was because of his wounds, or if he did it on purpose. Even though his voice was hoarse, he sounded cute...and he reminded her of Miles.

She could not help but miss Miles. That boy would wear the same feeble expression Cedrick sported whenever things did not go his way.

"Don't move, and stay there. I'll get water for you."

Catelyn could not resist the cuteness, so she ran to the kettle to pour a glass of water.

She noticed that the male nurse was sheepishly staring at them when she turned around, however.

The male nurse probably felt like he was the third wheel in the ward as he scratched his head, so he went back to his room in a hurry.

Catelyn's cheeks blushed instantly and it became hot. ' Why does it feel like we're having an affair?'

Richard received the text from Maia and quickly rushed to the hospital.

In a black car opposite the hospital, Maia stared at the small white porcelain bottle in her hand as her eyes twinkled maliciously.

She originally bribed a nurse to add it to Cedrick's infusion bottle.
