Chapter 705

"Where did you go tonight?" Catelyn questioned sharply.

Cedrick ignored her reluctance and her question. He grabbed onto her shoulder and planted a few quick kisses on her lips. His newly grown stubble poked at Catelyn's sensitive skin, and it felt both itchy and slightly painful.

Irritated, she made a point by rubbing her lips roughly with a scowl once he backed away. "You're disgusting!"

He stared while she wiped her lips with the back of her hand to the point that her lips were pressed to the side.

Despite his flirting, she was furious.

He did not stop until he was done kissing her and grinned cheekily. "The inside of your mouth is disgusting now. Do you want to wipe that, too?"

Catelyn flushed and grabbed onto a pillow to throw at his face. "Where on earth were you tonight?"

'If he dares to tell me that he was with Quinn, I'm going to...'

Though her tone was confronting, her chest was heaving, and her expression looked as though she was merely pouting, which Cedrick found endearing.

Feeling that tingle in his chest again, he glanced at the children's room and sat next to her as he explained, "I remember telling you that Javier is back.”

"And what about Quinn? Why did she say that she was with you? Are you lying to me?!" Catelyn blurted out, only realizing how jealous she sounded afterward.

Cedrick was taken by shock for a moment, but then immediately started chuckling. It was not obvious, but his chest vibrated and with how close Catelyn was to him, she could feel it.

Annoyed by his amusement, she snapped and stood from the couch before running back to the bedroom.

Cedrick chuckled and swiftly followed her to the room.

The first thing she did as soon as she returned to the room was to lock the door behind her. 'He can laugh all he wants! I'm going to ignore him. He can do whatever he wants with Quinn!'

To her bewilderment, a gray slipper darted into the gap of the door before she could shut it.

Agitated, she ignored his foot and forcefully tried to close the door, thinking that he would withdraw his foot if it began to hurt. However, a few moments later, his foot was still stuck in the gap and he refused to move, even though the slipper was starting to look deformed. She glared at him, and he met her eyes steadily. After a while, she gave up and grabbed her hair in frustration.
