Chapter 938

Catelyn quickly said, "Grandma, didn't Doctor Rudolf just examine Joanne just now? Let's just let her rest already."

"But we have to make sure that the child has any illness or fever before it's too late!" said Old Madam Atherton. Nothing was going to change her mind about this.

Catelyn tried to wink at Edwin, but he was keeping his eyes on Joanne, not noticing her signal at all.

How frustrating!

Before they knew it, the old family doctor of the Athertons had arrived along with Kelly Preston.

This doctor had been with the Athertons for many years, and the family had always treated him well.

As soon as he arrived, he quickly dispersed the crowd, leaving only Catelyn, Old Madam Atherton, and a few others.

This doctor's diagnosis method was more sophisticated than that of Doctor Rudolf. Within three minutes, he said to Old Madam Atherton while smiling, "Congratulations. Although the young lady is a little unstable at the moment, she will be okay after some good rest."

"Really?" Old Madam Atherton still could not help but feel suspicious. "Are you teaming up with them to deceive me?"

The old doctor replied calmly, "I've been serving the Athertons for almost thirty years. I'm sure I don't have the guts to lie to you. Besides, I also look forward to bringing in this new additional member of the family for you and that additional bonus reward as well."

Old Madam Atherton now felt utterly relieved and smiled boldly. "Don't worry. As long as you can give me a little great-grandson, I will reward you with a villa."

Joanne felt dizzy. She could vaguely hear someone talking in her ear, and she could see a doctor examining her.

When her consciousness gradually recovered, she just happened to hear the conversation between the doctor and Old Madam Atherton.

She subconsciously stroked her lower abdomen.

The old lady was looking forward to Joanne's child so much, yet she deceived her...

Noticing that Joanne was awake, Old madam Atherton quickly stepped forward and held her hand. "Joanne! The doctor said you were running around too much, and your baby is a little unstable! Make sure you rest well next time, and I will take good care of you."

Joanne's eyes turned red upon listening to Old Madam Atherton's sincere words.

For the first time, she got to enjoy such care and love from her elders.

Not even the Winter Family cared about her life and death.

Sob...

’Why are you crying?" Old Madam Atherton wiped her tears lovingly and said gently, "Are you still feeling sick? Good, it's normal for pregnant women. Just bear with it a little longer, and it will go away."
