Chapter 981
After a while, Edwin whistled indifferently and casually replied, "I only look at the results, and I don't want to know the process. Besides, I want to tell you that I'm married. Do you think I'm still pining after you?"
'M-Married?!' Noah's eyes widened in sheer shock.
"You're lying to me so I'd give up. Many reporters stalk you the moment you leave your house every day. If you get married, how can there be no news?"
She refused to believe he was married.
Edwin sneered, full of anger. "Whatever floats your boat. Anyway, I have a wife."
"Your family probably arranged for this, didn't they? You don't love her, right?" spoke Noah, rather sad and helpless. "It's all my fault, I shouldn't have left you, but I can't help it. Your father came to threaten me with my Mom's safety. If I hadn't broken up with you, my Mom would've died!
"Eddy, I love you! The scene you saw in the suite years ago was fake. I spent a thousand dollars on that just to break up with you."
Edwin clenched his fist. 'So it was Dad...'
He sneered. "Since you decided to make that up, why don't you keep that real till the end of time?"
He would not tolerate any betrayal. If she was threatened by Harry, she should have come to him or left him a reminder five years ago instead of making a scene.
Everything was irreversible, yet she brought up the past again.
'My Mom...was found out to have cancer last month. She may not live long, but she encouraged me not to leave any regret in my life.
"Eddy, please, I need this job! I'll be frank with you: I caused some trouble abroad, and Eclipse is the largest entertainment company in America. If even Eclipse rejects me, I'll have nowhere to go! They'll kill me!"
Still, Edwin showed no mercy, and histone fell flat as he replied, "My wife has a bad temper. If she knows that I hired you, she'll be most displeased."
"I promise not to let your wife know about our relationship. I beg you! We've been through a lot of things together, so cant you help me?"
When Catelyn woke up, it was already midnight.
Cedrick had been watching her by her bedside. When he saw her wake up, he immediately stepped forward with concern, carefully tucked in the quilt for her, and asked how she was feeling.
Seeing him caring for her, Catelyn could not help but burst into tears.
'How could he care for me so dearly yet have the heart to kill off our child?'
Cedrick thought she was suffering from the death of her child, so he wiped her tears with a tissue paper, leaned over, and kissed her dry lips. "Don't cry. We’ll have another child again."
'There won't be any!' Catelyn shouted in her heart, sobbing helplessly.
