Chapter 984
As it turned out, Edwin did not know why Cedrick wanted to kill the fetus.
Instead, Joanne noted that Edwin had been rather preoccupied.
She liked to hug something or would place her legs on something when she slept at night to feel at ease.
She and Edwin lived in the same room in Atherton Manor, which meant they shared the same bed.
For two nights in a row, Joanne vaguely heard the sound of rustling. She noticed that Edwin would go to the balcony to make a phone call one night.
His figure seemed to be a little restless.
Joanne did not even realize that she stared at his back at the phone for more than half an hour.
When Edwin came back from the balcony after making the phone call, she immediately closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Edwin closed the balcony door lightly, feeling slightly cold due to the night air.
There was a heater in the room. He planned to sit for a while before lying on the bed but inadvertently noticed that Joanne's beautiful fan-like eyelashes were trembling slightly.
’She's pretending to sleep?'
Joanne heard the sound of the door closing and thought that Edwin would come to bed to rest soon, but after waiting for a while, she could not feel the other side of the mattress sinking, so she silently bit her lip and sneakily opened her eyes-
"Gah!"
Edwin's handsome, though enlarged, face was right before her eyes. Edwin's face was almost only two centimeters away from Joanne's eyes.
It was so close that she could feel the fine hair on his cheeks.
Joanne yelled in fright, her heart skipping a beat. "Goodness gracious! What's that for?"
"Why pretend to be asleep when you're not?" asked Edwin as he raised his eyebrows. "Tell me: were you peeping at me just now?"
'That's not peeping? I was 'looking'!" Joanne retorted, then reached out to push his face away, but Edwin grabbed her hands and pressed them on both sides of her head.
Edwin kicked off his slippers and jumped onto the bed, and a strong body scent greeted his face.
