Chapter 69 

Athena’s POV 

-1 Month Later- 

It’s crazy to say that it’s officially been a month since our Luna and Alpha Ceremony and since then everyone including Luna Gwen has been extremely busy with the planning of my baby shower. For ever since it was mentioned about the genders of the pups, everyone has been diligently working on making sure the baby shower happened without a hitch. 

Although, this time the baby shower was more of an intimate setting then it was back at the Luna 

and Alpha Ceremony, having only invited close friends and family. 

Of course, not having any males at the party, made the event more intimate as it gave us all a chance to truly bond. Well, I shouldn’t say no males as Lucas was a male but we had bonded so much during my time here at the Mystic Shadow Pack that I couldn’t help but invite him, 

watching as he smiled at the offer. 

“You didn’t have to invite me, Athena” smiles Lucas as he moves to watch his Luna. 

“But I wanted to” I say to him, feeling at ease with at least knowing I’d have my new Beta at my side for Ares and Eros weren’t allowed to attend as it was for woman only and so my mates had decided to spend the day with Kai, Seth, Sam, Issac, Ashton and of course Brayden or Bray for short, as he was Cara’s new mate, a dragon and a twin. 

Cara had introduced Brayden and Addison during the Luna and Alpha Ceremony as her new mates, for apparently the Moon Goddess had blessed her with a set of twins, one girl and one boy, both dragons from Uncle Rick’s Pack. Otherwise known as gemini’s, both were nearly identical except that Addison who was 6’4 instead of 6’5 like her brother and her hair was long black with hints of rich blue tint to it that could only be seen when the light hit it just right. Her eyes also a beautiful shade of blue just like Brayden except her dragon was white the complete opposite of her brothers which earned them the name Gemini, because of their yin and yang personality. 

Addison was also more on the lean and fit side of things where as her brother more masculine but of course Cara didn’t care, as Cara’s wolf Zara loved both equally the same as both were worthy of the Luna position of her pack, which leaves to where Addison is today, for Addison offered to stay behind and protect their home while her brother came with Cara for the baby shower. 

“Hey Cara?” I called to the girl as we stood next to one another, my guests slowly arriving for the party. Lucas now off seeing to the guests and helping where needed. 

“Yeah?” asks Cara as she looks to me, her pale blue eyes always mesmerizing for those in the

Chapter 69 

Snow Moon pack always had white hair and pale blue eyes their skin a milky white making them 

almost exotic. 

“Why didn’t Addison come? You know she was more than welcome to be here as well” I replied to her, curious as to why the female dragon hadn’t come to the party. 

“Don’t take it personal Athena, Addison just wants to make sure our pack was safe, I’m sure if my pack wasn’t always under some sort of trouble, Addison would have jumped at the offer, but unfortunately having a human living among my people makes my clan an easy target for Brycen’s mate has yet to become one of us” admits Cara, sadly. 

“Trouble? In what way?” I say, obviously confused as I was not aware that the Snow Moon Pack was under any sort of trouble. 

Sighing softly she moves to explain as we wait. “I’ve only explained this to Ashton so please don’t let anyone else know but you see, my Gamma, Brycen managed to find his mate within a human, a human known as Mia. It happened during one of our frequent snow storms. He was out on patrol when he came across her scent, thankfully it didn’t take him long to find her but when he did he managed to save her from freezing to death. Since then, her stay with us has been drawing a lot of uneasy yet unwanted guests to appear, thankfully nothing we can’t handle but because of it, Addison wanted to make sure our pack stayed safe.” 

“Oh my goodness, why didn’t you contact us? We could help you” I tell her, a bit shocked that she hasn’t reached out to us as her pack was one of many who were protected under our alliances. 

“We will if things get super crazy but for now we’ve managed to handle things on our own. Besides,” pauses Cara as she moves to glance around before continuing. “My pack isn’t the only one going through rough patches, so is Alpha Hayes, Alpha Grant and Alpha Reese.” 

“Alpha Reese? The name doesn’t sound familiar to me” I admit. 

“He’s Alpha Hayes’s cousin. He’s the Alpha of Dawnguard. His clan often deals with Hunters who 

keep trying to destroy everything around him. They’re also one of the reasons he’s in a 

wheelchair” whispers Cara, so as not to let someone else hear them. 

“Oh Moon” I whisper an ache in my chest forming, not realizing the burdens of some of these 

packs and what it was they had to deal with. 

Nodding, she continues. “Elise and her pack have been dealing with something similar, a 

neighboring pack who’s been giving her nothing but trouble since her return from the Moon Walker pack and Isaac is dealing with things going on with Sophia and his cousin Kaylee.” 

At the mention of Elise and Isaac I start to become concerned. “Who’s the neighboring pack? Is it
