Our Luna, Our Mate
Chapter 70
Athena’s POV
‘Everyone looks so happy and peaceful,‘ whispers Artemis as she watches from behind my eyes. Having wanted to be a part of the party, I allowed Artemis to be present while all those invited now sat around tables and chairs as we all just sat here and talked.
‘Indeed they do, I mean had Cara not shared that little bit of information like she had done, I would never have known just how badly her’s or Elise’s situation was, let along Isaac’s predicament with the Council‘ I say back to her, knowing I would need to be speak to my Uncle later as he was the Lycan King after all, so surely he knew what was going between the packs and
the Council.
Mentally sighing, I can’t help but feel thankful about not meeting the Council that day during the Luna and Alpha Ceremony for while they had attended that night, none of them approached me in which I found oddly strange but refused to look into the matter when it happened.
At the mention of the Council, Artemis just growls, catching my attention. ‘Artemis?‘ I question,
unsure why she suddenly snarled.
“Those Council members are nothing but bad luck…I mean clearly they’re up to something,
especially if they’re poking their noses around Alpha Grant and his mate‘ murmurs Artemis, uneasy by the fact that the Council was trying to dictate Isaac’s mate for him.
‘I agree, and I’m sure Ares and Eros would agree as well, I’m sure even my Uncle’s would agree to
it as well‘ I finally say, my attention going back to those chatting, catching little tidbits that I’m
clearly missing out on as I sit talking to my wolf.
“Athena?” calls Gwen, noticing that Athena had been spacing out quite a bit during the party.
Drawing the attention of the others, Lucas moves to touch my shoulder, jolting me from my thoughts and my conversation with Artemis. “Luna? Is everything okay?” whispers Lucas, his eyes searching mine.
“Y–Yes… Sorry, I was talking to Artemis. She was telling me just how everyone seemed to be so happy while attending the party” I admit to them, leaving out the fact I had been thinking of
Cara’s words and the Council.
Smiling, Luna Gwen nods as do the other girls. “But of course, after all, it’s your baby shower. It’s about you and those little bundles of joy that you carry” smiles Emily, her eyes filled with happiness for her new found Luna.

“Thank you Emily, that means a lot” I reply, a smile now gracing my lips as Lucas moves to sit
down next to me, knowing that if something had truly been bothering me I would have said it. My hand coming to rest along my baby bump, the triplets kicking me slightly as they move causing me to smile wider and Artemis to purr.
“So have you thought of any names for the children?” asks Sophia with a smile, curious about the
names.
ps I decide
on they’ll be okay with even
“Um, well… Ares and Eros both agree that whatever though I would like to choose names with them, but yes.. I do have a couple of names floating around my head that I think would be wonderful names for the pups” I remark, a little hesitant to
share.
“What are they?” asks Emma, now curious as are the others as they all move to watch me.
Blushing, I move to shift slightly before returning my gaze. “Well… for one name I was thinking Ryder, named after my father in hopes I could honor him” I admit softly, since not having my father around was painful I decided that if the twins were okay with it, I’d like to name the boys
after my father, at least one of them anyways.
“What about the other two?” asks Elise, her eyes silently watching mine.
“I was thinking for the other boy… we could name him Nathan after my father’s Delta and for the girl I’m kind of leaning towards Aela or Samara both members of my old pack as well” I say, still unsure if I was doing the right thing by naming my pups after dead people in my pack but I wanted to find a way to honor my family and my pack, the very people I never got to grow up with
as a child.
“There lovely names my dear, I’m sure Ares and Eros would love those names regardless.” replies Maya with a smile.
Glancing at Maya, I moved to ask her about her baby’s name. “What about you Maya? You’re having a girl aren’t you?”
Nodding, she smiles. “Yep, and Grant and I decided that we want to name her,” pausing Maya waits a few seconds before looking directly at me.
“Maya?” I question, a bit cautious by her pause.
“We were hoping.. That… if you were okay with it, if you would allow us to name her after your mother, Selene? That way your mother gets to be honored as well” finishes Maya unsure of how I would react to the question, my eyes starting to water.
