Chapter 212 She Has Benjamin's Flesh and Blood
Kenneth smirked, "Are they from the Clark family?"
The butler smiled uncomfortably and glanced at Madelyn... The Ryan family was well aware of her relationship with Benjamin.
After considering for a moment, Kenneth let them come in.
A line of 18 black Mercedes-Benz cars and 88 exquisite gifts, all in pairs...
Kenneth pointed at them and asked, "Is it just a simple act of giving gifts, or are you coming to propose marriage?"
The representatives from the Clark family smiled.
Before the grandmother could speak, Kenneth whispered softly, "I've seen him; he's talented and presentable!"
The grandmother trusted her son the most and nodded.
Kenneth accepted only half of the gifts but did not agree to anything.
By doing so, he established Madelyn's dominance in the Ryan family!
His niece was very popular, and even the wealthiest family in the north came to propose to her. He wanted Madelyn, the Miss of the Ryan family, to have a stable position!
Madelyn was moved by this.
What did Benjamin mean by this?
On that evening, when she finally had some free time, she was about to contact him when Benjamin first got her.
Madelyn answered the phone.
His tone was unusually gentle, "Are you having a good time in Vadiff?"
Madelyn nodded, "Yes!"
She thought momentarily and decided to be direct, "Don't send gifts anymore, I'm afraid..."
"Afraid that people will misunderstand?"
"Madelyn, I actually wanted to propose to you, but your uncle refused my proposal!"
...
During the late night hours, Benjamin's voice was ambiguous, "What should I do? It's getting harder for me to pursue you, Madelyn. Do you want me to come over?"
Madelyn shook her head.
Acknowledging her roots and family had nothing to do with their relationship.
Benjamin was clearly just taking advantage of the situation.
Madelyn remained calm.
She said softly, "Let's talk about it when I get back to Gredax!"
There was a long silence from Benjamin before he whispered, "Madelyn, are you... rejecting me from entering your life?"
In her generation of the Ryan family, she was the only girl.
Kenneth's behavior clearly indicated that he wanted her to return to Vadiff. If Madelyn agreed to return, would they still have a chance?
After he asked, neither of them spoke.
Madelyn knew he wanted a commitment, but she couldn't give him one at the moment!
She didn't want to hastily relinquish her emotions and everything she had because of a momentary impulse.
Finally, Benjamin hung up the phone.
...
Madelyn stayed with the Ryan family for three days before returning to Gredax.
The driver dropped her off at the front of her apartment building. There was a black Maybach parked there, with the window open. A slender arm rested on the window sill, and the person inside kept smoking.
It was Benjamin.
When he saw Madelyn, he opened the car door, got out, and took the luggage from her hand, "You're back?"
Madelyn made a sound of agreement.
They hadn't seen each other for almost a month, and their meeting felt somewhat unfamiliar.
Benjamin stubbed out the cigarette and walked upstairs in front of her.
Madelyn initially wanted to stop him, but seeing his desolate figure, she swallowed her words and followed him upstairs.
When Madelyn opened the door, Benjamin couldn't help but hug her from behind.
She stiffened slightly.
Benjamin seemed to sense it, and he whispered near her ear, "I won't touch you. It's been a long time since we had a meal together. How about making some shredded chicken noodles?"
Madelyn made a sound of agreement.
She walked in through the door, with Benjamin following behind her. He looked around and asked, "Where's our dog?"
Madelyn smiled and said, "I left Snow in Vadiff."
Benjamin turned her body around and gently pressed her onto the small sofa. He asked in a low voice, "Do you plan to let the dog be named Ryan too?"
Madelyn found him boring.
She pushed him away and went downstairs to the kitchen. She hadn't eaten lunch herself and wanted something hot to eat.
Benjamin poured her a glass of milk.
Leaning against the kitchen counter, he casually said, "I heard that the Esrand project is going very well."
Madelyn nodded, "Yes! I left Nicolas there for two months, and he is fully in charge of the project... You don't have to worry about his abilities. Mr. Zachary will look after him, and he will help when necessary!"
Benjamin's gaze was intense.
In these past few months, Madelyn had undergone a transformation.
He liked how she had changed, but he wanted more. He wanted to completely possess her.
Kenneth's appearance definitely made him uneasy.
While she was washing vegetables, he hugged her slender waist tightly, "Will you go to Vadiff in the future?"
Madelyn paused, "Hmm, I'm considering it!"
Benjamin's heart sank slightly, but he persevered and asked, "And then? Participate in the blind date arranged by Kenneth for you? Madelyn, what should I do? How do you want to arrange me?"
After struggling for a while, he finally got to the point.
He still asked for her commitment!
Madelyn wasn't heartless.
She had experienced the pain of love, and she knew that Benjamin liked her. But she wasn't ready to marry, and liking someone...didn't necessarily mean they had to be together.
Being with him did bring her joy and happiness, but who knew what the future holds? What if one night, he received a call from the Bennett family and abandoned her again?
Madelyn continued washing the vegetables.
The room was quiet, with only running water from the tap...
