Chapter 55 The Tension Between Love Rivals
Madelyn looked a bit dull.
Benjamin gently wrapped his arm around her shoulder and said naturally, "I asked you to go to the wine store, why did you come to this café?"
Madelyn's mood was weirdly improved.
She didn't conceal this matter from him, so she explained in a soft tone, "I met some acquittances and chitchatted with them."
Benjamin fixed his black eyes on her and then looked at the "acquittances" behind her. Then he said blandly, "Oh, it's you, Daniel."
Compared with his composure, Daniel looked tenser.
He was not a fool and he could perceive that Benjamin didn't like him. It was not only because of Eloise but also partly because of Madelyn.
When their eyes met, the air seemed to be sparkling.
Madelyn gently wrapped her arm around Benjamin's and said in a low voice, "Let's go back."
Benjamin retreated his gaze and nodded.
However, right at this moment, Gabriella walked out of the café and greeted him enthusiastically, "Benjamin, turns out it's you."
She acted as if she only learned that Madelyn was in love with him and pretended to be very shocked as she asked, "Madelyn, why are you so intimate with Benjamin? Weren't you Daniel's..."
She suddenly paused and swallowed the rest words.
This trick had a superexcellent effect. If it was an ordinary man, probably he would vent his anger on Madelyn. But who is Benjamin? How would he be fooled by a scheming middle-aged woman?
He tossed his laptop bag to Madelyn and took out a package of cigarettes from his pocket.
When lighting the cigarette, he asked nonchalantly, "Did Daniel have a girlfriend before? But I heard from Eloise that she was Danie's first love..."
Gabriella was shocked.
She looked at her son awkwardly and then found an excuse, "I meant Madelyn's father was once an accountant in the Campbell Group."
