Blanca had no idea what Carrie was up to.
Yesterday Matthew had made Louise hold an embarrassing press conference for herself. But when Blanca and Matthew arrived at the Grant family villa, all that gloominess seemed to be gone. Especially Carrie was treating Blanca well on the contrary, which was super confusing to Blanca.
“Blanca, let me show you how to wrap up the leaves.”
Carrie took over what Blanca was holding and started showing Blanca how it should be done. She saw Blanca pull up a piece of leaf from the tub, fold it up and fill it up with soaked rice - Carrie had to help out.
And Blanca looked at Carrie, feeling so embarrassed.
It was already two in the afternoon. Blanca woke up around noon. After Blanca woke up, she dared not look at Matthew’s eyes, especially after she had found a hickey on her body, which made her blush and her heartbeat raise.
Blanca and Matthew had lunch in the old villa. Carrie was making rice dumplings, which made Blanca really happy.
Blanca loved holiday celebrations. During holidays, it was fun and joyful in her household, and she didn’t have to do any chores and housework. Grandma would buy her treats and snacks for the holidays, too.
“Matthew, come with me. I need to speak with you.” Matthew was playing chess with old Mr. Grant in the living room. The ladies in the family were gathering in the kitchen making rice dumplings. Wilbert Grant walked up to Matthew with a serious look on his face at the moment.
Matthew was unsure what Wilbert was up to. He put down the chessman he was holding, “Dad, what is it? We can talk here.”
“Matthew Grant.” Wilbert barely got mad. But he thought Matthew was out of line this time. Seeing Wilbert was about to lash it out on Matthew, old Mr. Grant yawned, “Matthew my boy, it must be for something important. You should meet your dad in the study. I am getting sleepy anyway. I am going to take a nap.”
“I am speaking with you. What the heck?” Wilbert was really angry.
Wilbert always had faith in Matthew for almost everything, except that Matthew and Louise never had been the best siblings for each other, which always had been bothering Wilbert all these years past.
Matthew took a sip of tea and said coldly, “I heard you.”
“Then you owed me an explanation.” Wilbert’s anger was softened up and he said so.
Matthew’s fingertips tapped the tabletop. Then he suddenly raised his head, his sharp eyes swept over, and his voice was still cold, “They all deserved to be treated that way.”
