Blanca decided to act first and showed a misty gaze to Matthew. “I’m sorry. I was wrong for what I did this afternoon. If need be, I can clear things up.”
“Oh? Exactly what did you do wrong?”
Matthew sat down sternly on the sofa and looked at the junk food on the table, growing a bit displeased.
Exactly what did she do wrong.
Blanca massaged her temple with her hand. Wasn’t a phrase like that supposed to be uttered by a wife to a cheating husband? It felt so pouty.
“Out with it.”
Matthew tossed the empty bottle into the bin and looked at Blanca.
She was in a white lace onesie with two narrow straps on the shoulders, showing her narrow neck and beautiful collarbone, and it just looked… ravishing.
This girl was being deliberate, wasn’t she?
Matthew looked away, and Blanca immediately said, “I made a mistake not shutting Kylie up right then and there, and I let her speak. I shouldn’t have allowed her the opportunity to get any words out!”
That wouldn’t have started the wildfire rumors all over the city!
Matthew ignored her and walked towards the bedroom. Blanca’s heart hammered away. Well, drat, was he really angry?
Blanca followed behind, jogging up, babbling while she did.
Up until they headed to the bedroom, Matthew suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked coolly at her. “The bathwater’s ready, right.”
“It’s ready, all ready,” Blanca said, all lackey-like.
Matthew nodded and went into the bathroom.
Blanca felt like all her strength had been sucked out and slid down leaning on the bathroom door. There came the sound of water from the inside, and she listened in for a while. Then she shook her fist.
