If this had been six years ago, Daniel's first reaction to seeing Jean in this state would have been sympathy. Regardless of whether he was present, he would have driven everyone away to protect her, even if it meant bearing the stigma of infidelity.

Yet, Jean's blatant lies and attempts to deceive him made him lose any urge to protect her.

Daniel was so angry at Brad's behavior that he almost wanted to smash his head in. However, given the crowd, he knew acting on his anger would seem unfair.

Ignoring Brad's irritating behavior, Daniel turned to Jean and said, "If you claim Brad messaged you, then show me the evidence! If you can't provide proof, you're just making things up!"

Jean had no evidence. She bit her lip and said in a trembling voice, "Mr. Hamilton, I accidentally deleted the chat history."

Seeing this, Evelyn quickly jumped in to defend her. "Don't worry, it was me who messaged Jeanie to come over. She must have misunderstood and thought it was Brad."

Then, she opened her Instagram chat with Jean and showed the conversation to Daniel.

After reviewing the chat, Daniel nodded slightly. Everything checked out. Evelyn had indeed invited Jean to the Hamilton Estate.

Seeing Daniel convinced, Evelyn quickly walked over, wrapped her arm around his, and whispered in his ear, "Darling, this is a private matter between Brad and Jeanie. Is it really worth making such a fuss? Besides, we're all adults here. Why interfere so much?"
