Please Let Me Go novel Chapter 75

Flora was sleeping when Clarissa got home. She got rid of her uncomfortable high heels, and the sprain hurt so much that she screamed out loud.

Hearing her daughter’s voice, Flora hastily came to her, finding Clarissa was rubbing her ankle while cursing Adelaide.

Flora saw the serious bruise and asked anxiously, “What happened, sweetheart?”

“It was because of the bitch!” She angrily kicked her high heels, which hurt her toes.

Flora quickly ran to her room on barefoot and returned with a bottle of medicine liquor.

She applied the medicine liquor to her daughter’s ankle and said, “Just a little bit painful. Take it easy.”

“Ouch! It hurts!” Clarissa couldn’t smother her screams.

Clarissa’s pain squeezed Flora’s heart and she cursed Adelaide with her daughter together, not knowing what happened.

After a bout of bad temper, the doorbell rang off. Flora looked at her daughter with confusion as she didn’t expect to see anyone else on the eve of the Spring Festival. Still, she opened the door.

“Damla?”

After several interactions, it seemed that Flora got along well with Ivy.

Ivy entered the house in frustration. When she saw Clarissa in the chair, she asked, “Clarissa, have you been to the Baron’s dinner?”

“Yes, I was there but Antonio’s grandma didn’t like me and she asked me to go home. My sister…she pushed” Clarissa suddenly stopped her words.

“Nonsense!”

Nobody could know Clarissa better than her mother did. Flora knew what her daughter was up to, and she instantly put on a show with her daughter.

Smelling the odor of the medicine liquor, Damla found the bruise on Clarissa’s ankle. She squealed, “Jesus Crist! What happened?” Thinking of Clarissa’s unfinished words, she asked, “Have you been pushed by Mrs. Baron?”

Clarissa shook her head as her tears trickled down her cheeks.

“She’s out of line. I have to tell Mr. Antonio.”

Clarissa instantly signaled her mother with a look, and Flora hastily held Damla’s hand. “No, you can’t. Otherwise, Antonio will think that Clarissa and me take it too personally. Well, after all, we failed Adelaide. We’re fine as long as the baby is safe.”

Damla was so guileless that she believed what she had been told. Ans she sighed as she was sorry for Adelaide’s rudeness.

Then they stepped to the living room together as Damla whined about what she had been through.

She thought she’d return home for her family reunion on the eve of the Spring Festival as Antonio and Adelaide both left home for the Baron’s dinner. However, Antonio told her to watch over the house as they’d return home at night, which got her annoyed.

Then Antonio called her that they got too drunk to drive home and that she could leave for home. But it was already twelve at night, and she’d bother the children’s sleep if she got home in two hours.
