Chapter 988

Anne stilled and paled as she held her breath.

“We’ve had a wonderful time together in Athetin and here you are, calling me over again. If we meet too frequently, Anne is going to find out,” Bianca continued in a worried tone. “Anthony, I know that it’s hard for you to pretend like you love Anne for the sake of the children. It’s hard for me, too. I shouldn’t have made you marry Anne, which is why I agree to what you proposed before. Let’s just get a divorce at the right time. I just love you too much to let you go, and I’m sure that Anne won’t fight me on this. After all, what’s the point for her to keep you to herself when you don’t love her at all…”

Anne backed away with tears in her eyes. Unable to stand it any longer, she picked up the lunchbox on the coffee table and ran away from the office.

Hearing the noises outside, Bianca opened the door to the lounge and walked out.

She had been alone inside all along. She knew that

Anthony was out of the office and headed to the Archduke Group to wait for Anne.

‘I’ll let you have a taste of what it’s like to know that your husband is seeing his ex–fiance in secret, until this feeling is overwhelming enough to choke you to death!‘ She thought.

Anne returned to the parking lot with the elevator and stumbled as soon as she walked out.

“Ugh!”

The lunchbox in her hands flew open and the food inside scattered on the ground.

She stared at the food dazedly and without making an effort to pick them up, she turned heels and left.

Once she was inside the car, the driver noticed the dark look on her face and asked, “Why did you come back down so early, Mrs. Marwood? Did you manage to deliver the food?”

“He wasn’t there,” she said.

The driver thought that Anne was simply upset that she could not see Anthony and consoled her. “It’s fine. Mr. Marwood will be pleased to know that you tried. You can always do it again.”
