Isabella hadn’t expected Seth to pick her up during such a busy time. She quickly 

grabbed her purse and headed out. 

In the parking lot, Seth, dressed in a black suit, sat on the hood of his car smoking. 

There was an inexplicable air of roguishness about him. 

Isabella approached from a distance and called out, “Mr. Shaffer?” 

The man turned around, casually tossed his cigarette, and extinguished the ember with 

his black leather shoe. Then, he gave Isabella a once-over. 

Suddenly, his eyebrows furrowed. 

“Where’s the bracelet?” 

Isabella thought he was still holding a grudge and instinctively covered her wrist.

and glanced at her. “It’s not something that needs to be hidden. Why are you covering 

it?”

“Get in the car.” Seth let go of her hand and got into the car.
