offer. No star of Briana’s caliber would ever accept such a low price. Isabella felt a bit 

tempted, but she also felt helpless. Could she possibly convince Seth to meet with 

Briana? She paced back and forth in her office, then decided to call Nicolas. 

“Isabella.” Nicolas answered the phone quickly. 

Isabella cleared her throat, “Um… is Mr. Shaffer available?” 

“Are you looking for Mr. Shaffer? I can go ask him for you.”

Isabella ran her fingers through her hair and took a deep breath. “Does Mr. Shaffer have

Nicolas was silent for a moment, then informed Isabella, “Mr. Shaffer is free next 

Monday evening. He seems to be attending the opening ceremony of Miss Cline’s The 

Red House.” 

Right! She suddenly remembered that Courtney had also sent her an invitation. Isabella 

was overjoyed, thanked Nicolas repeatedly, and then hung up the phone. She

With the major problem solved, she could focus on the morning meeting. Natasha was 

being discharged from the hospital today, and Isabella had promised to pick her up. 

As soon as the meeting was over, she went straight to the hospital. Ever since she had 

offended Christopher, Isabella made sure to avoid taking shortcuts and deliberately left 

work early whenever she went out.
