As soon as Jeremy Granger and Cianna Lovell finished speaking, the entire bank fell into silence. Everyone around them was dumbfounded. They stared at Jeremy and Yolanda with shock and confusion.
"What was going on? Why was Mr. Granger being so polite to a school kid?" Lucia covered her mouth in surprise.
As for Isaiah, he didn't dare utter a word. He was wondering if he was in a hallucination from the adrenaline rush.
"Just what was the deal? How could someone like Yolanda know Jeremy? And on what grounds could Mr. Granger lower himself to apologize to Yolanda? Could Yolanda's threat earlier to fire them wasn't a bluff?" he thought.
Lucia and Isaiah both sucked in a sharp breath. Harold, Yolanda's father, was equally dumbfounded. He was unsure how his daughter possibly knew someone as important as Jeremy, let alone have him extend an invitation so respectfully.
Yolanda glanced at Jeremy and his wife, speaking in a flat tone.
"Mr. Granger, Ms. Lovell," she greeted.
Cianna quickly said, "Ms. Henderson, if you don't mind, please call me Cianna."
Jeremy, who had noticed the tense atmosphere since entering, waved at Cianna, gesturing for her to be quiet.
He then asked, "Ms. Henderson, what happened just now?"
"Mr. Granger, it was all a misunderstanding!"
"Yes, yes! A misunderstanding!"
Lucia and Isaiah quickly spoke up.
However, Jeremy didn't even look at them as he hissed, "I'm talking to Ms. Henderson."
Lucia and Isaiah reluctantly fell silent, their faces flushed with unease. When Jeremy turned to look at Yolanda, his expression changed rapidly, putting on a flattering smile.
"Ms. Henderson, please tell me what happened."
