Skylar had exhausted all options. With no movement on Diana's case, she could only pray Beatrice would pull through so that Vic might show mercy on Diana.
Yolanda surveyed the living room as she changed her shoes. Only Joe, Yvonne, Harold's family, and Skylar remained. Winnie must have left shortly after her.
She headed straight upstairs without greeting anyone. Seeing her attitude, Joe's temper flared. "Yolanda! We're all trying to help here. Don't you care about your mother at all?
"Yolanda, stop right there!" Ignoring Joe's outburst, Yolanda continued upstairs. She was too exhausted for their drama.
"Dad, please calm down. Don't make yourself sick." Yvonne rubbed Joe's back. "Maybe Yolanda was out looking for help too."
"Hah! What help could she find? Without Mr. Savage backing her, she's nothing!" Joe was still fuming. "I don't want a daughter like that! If Diana faces charges, I'll spend every penny fighting her case. Then I'm going straight to a lawyer to legally disown Yolanda!"
His anger made him reckless with his words. At the mention of "every penny," something flickered in Yvonne's eyes, but she stayed quiet.
The room fell silent again. Everyone was staring at their phones as they waited. Upstairs, Yolanda called Rowan.
"Yolanda! It's been a long time!" His voice came through patchy amid background noise.
"Find better reception. I need to ask you something important."
After that, Rowan shouted, "Hold on! I'll call you back in five!"
Five minutes later, her phone rang. This time, Rowan's end was quiet.
