CHARLOTTE...

I woke up from sleep tangling with my mate in the same bed. Last night was amazing. And each time, I get closer to him. I think I am starting to have feelings for this man.

Not sure how much I am involved in him, but it's not so far when I am head over hills for him.

I carefully rolled out of the bed. He moved and groaned but I lulled him into sleep again before stepping out of the bed.

I freshened up and walked out of our room. I have planned to make breakfast for him. Don't know how he would like it but I want to convey my gratefulness toward him for being generous to me and keeping me safe.

Without a second thought, I walked into the kitchen. The Omegas that are in charge of cooking slightly raised their head at me and bowed in respect before indulging in their work once again.

"Umm... Are you making breakfast?" I asked one who is pouring flour into a bowl.

"Yes, Luna." She replied. "Please wait a moment. It will be done soon."

"Oh no, it's alright. I am saying that I want to make today's breakfast for Augustus." I said, a little hesitant for no reason.

Both Omegas were slightly stunned as they passed a look at each other and then bowed at me, "Luna is so generous. You are pleased to do anything, ma'am."

They stood aside and let me do whatever I want. They are in charge of the kitchen so, they don't feel excluded, I made them assist me and they happily obliged.

I have never talked to any Omegas other than they informed me about things or I am asking them if I need anything. I never felt comfortable. Because, somehow without a wolf, I am worthless than an omega and I wasn't really sure what they are thinking of me.

Because no one except my mate is fond of me. However, to live here and to become a Luna queen, I need to communicate with the people that are staying in the mansion. I simply can't ignore them and gain the trust of my mate and the pack.

I am not just a mate but I have a responsibility as the Luna queen.

And thankfully, the two Omegas were friendly and polite to me. Seemed like they don't have any problem accepting the wolfless Luna. That determined me to find my wolf more.

I was almost done with my cooking when I heard heavy footsteps coming downstairs urgently and some shouts outside.

Both Omegas gasped and stood close together in fear. Because they already know who is coming.

It was Augustus. He seems mad.

Keeping the bowl on the kitchen counter, I walked out of the kitchen in confusion. Wasn't he sleeping peacefully? Now, what happened all of a sudden?

Does anyone attack the Palace?

"What's wrong?" I mumbled while following his voice.

"You were sleeping, Augustus." I gulped the sudden lump that started forming in my throat before adding. "You don't have to pretend your trust when you don't trust me at all." I glanced at the people that are watching us at this moment. "It's an insult to my hard work, you know?"

His face was blank, I don't really know what he is thinking. But, the moment those words fall from my lips, his fingers loosened around my throat and I freed myself from him, stepping away.

Suddenly, I don't want to be in front of him anymore and turned around.

"I am making breakfast. If you think you can eat it undoubtedly, then eat. And if you don't want to, then..." I gulped one big time once again, "Then throw it away."

With that, I walked inside the kitchen.

I was really hurt. I know he doesn't trust me fully but this one? Well, I didn't expect it.

For the last few days, I am trying my best to make him trust me. And frankly, I even thought he does trust me. However, it turned out, he doesn't.

There is still a very long way to go. Only I don't know when this exam of mine will end with a better result.

I am willing to try harder if that's needed. Though I don't know exactly what will make him soft with his trust toward me, I will keep trying.

And maybe, ask him to mark me. If that's something that makes him put his belief in me.
