I slammed on the door, earning his attention to the utmost. He growled before snapping at me, "Wait outside!"

"Fuck off, Adrian! I have something more important!" I snapped back as he growled again but stood straight, kicking the girl out.

"What happened!?" He gritted his teeth, wearing his clothes, smelling like sex.

I rolled my eyes at him. "Yeah, have fun to the fullest until she takes everything that is ours." I mocked. "Here you are having another woman. What about Charlotte? You can't even handle that pathetic weak woman?"

Adrian frowned. "And what are you doing, huh? Can't you just give her that simple drug? Failing each time and now telling me? Stop fooling around."

His words rushed my blood to my head but I need to keep my cool to make things work. I only frowned and clenched my teeth but didn't say anything to him.

"Keep everything aside, well, just kick all the past things and start a new plan, Adrian. That woman is going out of control. We need to take care of her as soon as possible. The way she is being obedient to Augustus, no time sooner he will mark and then everything will go in vain."

Adrian nodded his head, his brows furrowed deeper.

"You are right. She is really out of our control. She doesn't even pester me anymore. Well, fuck pestering, she doesn't even care if I am trying to contact her. Seems she is ignoring me these days."

His words made me panic more. "If this is the case... Is our motive exposed to her?"

Our eyes snapped at each other as I gasped at my own thought.

Adrian muttered a curse, keeping his both hands on both sides of his waist, shaking his head in deep tension.

"You are right. We need to do things quicker than we thought to do. We need to solve her in advance." He pulled his chair and sat on it before looking up at me.

"And for that, I have a plan..."

CHARLOTTE...

I roamed around the whole mansion, like a bird in a cage. Even though the cage is huge and worth a billion, it's still a gage for the bird.

And when a pair of eyes are always following that bird, it will also lose all interest in even roaming around the cage. And it's the same for me.

His assistant informed me that, he would be late to return from the meeting as it is related to the new project they are working on.

I looked around the office. It is nothing fancy but simple and decorated with expensive pieces of furniture. A serious environment presents his demeanour without a doubt. Moreover, it's nothing I haven't seen before.

So, I walked to the painting that was hanging on the dark wall. I don't understand paintings but this one is exquisite with a touch of three colours. Red, black and white.

As I was trying to understand what could be the meaning behind it, suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around my waste from behind making my heart stopped for a few seconds.

No, I am not scared. Not anymore. But his fragrance is always enchanting and his dark presence that sends me to my edges all the time.

His effect was like a drug that I am getting addicted more and more over time.

I felt his chin resting on my head. "I thought you are sore from the morning?" His deep voice fall. "Seems you recovered much quicker than I imagine."

My eyes narrowed. without even looking at him I could sense that evil smirk on his face that is absolutely ravishing and thigh-clenching!

I turned to face him and the moment my eyes met those green eyes, my breath heaved and I lost all my annoyance at once.

This man really knows magic. Or how it is possible to go weak on knees just by a mere glance of him!
