'Our relationship is still on the skate, Charlotte.' Sierra said the suppressed truth, Charlotte trying to ignore for these days.

Charlotte kept silent. She could not utter a word for a few seconds and then sighed. 'I know Sierra. But, do you ever think what is love without trust?'

She sighed again and shook her head. 'It's not something pleasant, Sierra. I admit, he loves me and spoils me, but... But, I can't really accept his paranoid behaviour all the time! Augustus doubts me and what I hadn't done to earn his trust. He still could not trust me. Do you think, it's possible to stay with a mate like him? No, it's not. No matter how much love we have in the relationship, it will always be cursed and messy without trust.'

'Charlotte, what are you thinking then?' Sierra asked, feeling a little scared of Charlotte's decision.

'I don't know, Sierra. It's just, all of this is messing me up. At this point, I started to feel that what is life without a mate? Umm... Do you think, we do need a mate in our life? Can't we live alone?' Charlotte finally revealed her thoughts.

'Before taking your final decision, please meet Lady Dahlia.' Sierra said.

Charlotte frowned, 'Who is Lady Dahlia?'

'She is Warrenda's mother. One of the biggest witches and knows a lot. Please meet her once and she can give you information about your reborn. Before making any decision against Augustus, this is the last request, I am making to you, Charlotte. Please keep it.' Saying, she shut her off.

'Wait! Sierra...' However, Sierra is gone.

Charlotte blinked in a daze. Why would Sierra ask her to meet Lady Dahlia!? And how did she know about her reborn!?

Charlotte was stupefied. She sighed for one last time and decided to keep Sierra's request before making any decision.

That night at the dinner table, Charlotte kept quiet. She even ignored Augustus's gaze on her and only concentrate on her food. After she finished eating, she returned to her room.

As he was sitting in his office, Mateo entered. He didn't even look up at him and he frowned.

Knowing something is wrong, Mateo sat beside his best friend. "What happened, Augustus?"

His words finally made him look up. Augustus sighed and shook his head, before leaning on his seat. "It's Charlotte."

Mateo frowned. "What happened to her? Is she alright?"

Augustus nodded, "Yeah, she is fine but..." He sighed again before continuing, "She is wavering from her determination. There was a time when she wanted me to mark her. She did lots of things to gain my trust and what I did do? I ignored her genuinity and distrusted her. Now, when I know she is honest, she is giving it back second thought."

Augustus looked up at his friend. "Mateo, she wants space from me. I... I can't live without her. What shall I do?"

Mateo nodded his head and smiled sadly. "Look at me, Augustus. I have trusted my mate over everything and what she did do to me? She crushed my trust and left me alone to suffer. But you guys, you have each other. You love each other. Specially, you, Augustus."

"I understand why she is thinking again about this relationship. Anyone would have done the same. Not as a beta but as a friend, I will suggest you give her some space and meantime, show her that you also can change. You also can give her what she wants from this relationship. It's you, who can do this Augustus and not anyone else."
