Chapter 12 Having Fun as a Wealthy Woman
Aracely said these non–stop.
Her voice was a little loud. Anaya took the phone slightly away from her ear and said with a smile, “I was the one who was cheated, but you seem to be angrier than me.”
“If possible, everyone should teach the irresponsible husbands a lesson!”
Anaya said casually as if it had nothing to do with her, “They are not worth your energy. Anger is bad for your health.”
“Anaya, you‘ve been so strange lately. How can you be so calm right now? You‘re like a different person now.”
Anaya sat up in her bed. She tucked her hair behind her ears with one hand and said, “I‘ve given up on him. I won‘t be crazy for him anymore.”
Anaya said it casually, but Aracely felt bad for her.
Anaya must have suffered a lot‘before finally making such a decision.
Aracely parked the car by the side of the road. “Anaya, are you available tonight? Let’s go to Night Pub for a few drinks.”
“You want to drink?”
“Yes.”
“Alright, see you later.”
Aracely put away her phone.
Aracely thought that Anaya must do something to revenge on Joshua.
It was time for Anaya to be the decisive one who moved on first!
Aracely wanted Anaya to have some fun as a wealthy woman!
Joshua went to Royal Hotel to fetch Lexie for dinner.
As soon as he drove away from the parking lot, someone called to invite himn to Night Pub.
Joshua thought for a moment and agreed.
Lexie was a costume designer. It would benefit her greatly if she could have connections from the upper class.
There were five or six people in the room, all of whom were Joshua‘s acquaintances.
Joshua simply greeted them and sat down with Lexie.
Joshua and Lexie had entered hand in hand. People in the room all sneaked a look at them.
It was silent for a while before Robin said, “Joshua, who is this young lady? Why haven‘t I seen her before!
Robin and Joshua had grown up together and they were always close friends.
“She‘s Lexie Dunbar,” Joshua answered simply.
“Ah!” Robin thought of something. “Lexie, she was your secret girlfriend when you were in university, wasn‘t she?”
Joshua dated Lexie not long after he graduated from high school. For some unknown reasons, he never made it public
until Lexie went abroad to study.
After Anaya knew that Joshua had a girlfriend, she stopped pursuing him and hid her love for him. Anaya had been loving him and doing things for him without letting him know.
One year ago, when the Maltz Group was in trouble, Anaya could not help but forced Joshua to marry her at the expense of 800 million dollars.
Robin had only seen Lexie a few times in these three years. Robin couldn’t remember Lexie’s look clearly. All he could remember about Lexie was her surname, Dunbar.
When he heard her full name, he remembered who she was.
He asked Joshua, “Are you … together now?”
This was also a question that everyone present wanted to ask.
A year ago, Adams was still healthy, and the Dutt Group was at its peak.
Adams planned the wedding two months in advance to please Anaya. He followed up on all preparation work, including booking the venue and checking the arrangement of the site. He wanted to give Anaya the wedding of the
century.
At that time, the wedding was highly publicized, saying that Anaya and Joshua were the love of each other’s life. Their love story was too romantic to happen in reality. The stock prices of the Maltz Group and the Dutt Group had been up.
Ironically, in less than a year, the hero of the romance, Joshua, was together with his first girlfriend publicly.
Joshua did not know how to answer Robin’s question.
Joshua and Anaya hadn’t divorced yet, so it was indeed his fault to bring Lexie here.
Lexie smiled gently and answered the question in place of Joshua, “No, Joshua and I are just friends now.”
The word “now” clearly implied something else.
Everyone tacitly pretended not to realize the relationship between Joshua and Lexie. They shifted the topic.
Lexie was invited to sit with the girls who were all brought up in wealthy families.
Robin took the opportunity to ask Joshua in a low voice, “I heard that you slept with Lexie last night, and people in our circle all knew that. Is that true?”
Joshua frowned. “Nonsense! Lexie and I are just friends!”
“People are posting it on social media. I don’t know who started it.” Robin glanced at Lexie. “Didn’t you do anything with her last night?”
“No.”
Last night, he was at the hotel. But he hadn’t done anything except look after Lexie.
“I believe you. But you’d better explain it to Anaya and apologize. The rumor was widely spread. Anaya must have seen the photo as well. She might be very upset now.
“Anaya is so nice to you. You can’t hurt her for your ex–girlfriend.”
At the mention of Anaya, Joshua felt a little nervous. “She’s going to divorce me. It doesn’t matter if I explain it to her
or not.”
