James' demeanor turned icy as he issued the command.
"Yes, Mr. Caldwell!" the voice on the other end responded without hesitation and promptly carried it out.
Ten minutes later, James received a call. "Mr. Caldwell, Brighton University has sent someone named Victor Grant. However, according to the information, he has already gone to your house and…"
The person hesitated, their voice betraying a trace of reluctance.
"Spit it out! Don't waste my time!" James coldly reprimanded.
"Yes, sir! Victor originally planned to conduct a home visit, but Hayden failed to secure his spot. Instead, it was given to Morgan of the Sterling family," the person reported honestly.
"What? The Sterling family? How is that possible?" James was visibly shocked, his expression darkening.
Victor had indeed come to the Caldwell residence, likely with Hayden as his point of contact.
What exactly happened in between?
"Based on the school's records, Victor first visited the Sterling family and then went to the Sterling family's private club before going to your house. We suspect they've reached some sort of agreement, which led to the cancellation of Hayden's admission in favor of the Sterling family."
The person continued to explain the situation. "The Sterling family is preparing for Morgan's birthday party, intending to invite high-ranking figures to witness the rise of their successor. Currently, Victor is still at the club. Should we send people to bring him back?"
At that moment, James's expression was filled with rage, his eyes burning with fury. He never anticipated so many things to happen at this time!
"The Sterling family intercepted us… They even snatched the admission spot. How ruthless can they be to do this to their own blood!"
He gritted his teeth, his body trembling slightly with anger and anguish.
Beside him, Serena, who had overheard the conversation, was already in tears, covering her face as she wept.
Only now did they understand what Hayden had endured, why his demeanor had changed, and why he was so burdened with pain and sorrow.
