Morgan's plan included driving Charlotte and the others away, giving him the chance to completely take control of Lily.
The thought alone made his entire body heat up with excitement.
"Oh, Morgan, you're just too kind. Why would you treat Hayden so well? He's no good, and even if you do this, he won't appreciate it," Lily said, sighing and shaking her head slightly.
"It doesn't matter how Hayden feels about me. I just want him to come, and that'll be enough," he replied with righteous determination.
"Fine. I'll discuss it with the family tonight." She relented for the moment.
…
That evening, after dinner, all the Sterlings gathered in the living room to discuss Morgan's upcoming birthday party.
The guest list was one of the main topics of discussion.
At that moment, Lily spoke up. "Morgan said there's one more person he'd like to invite. He wanted everyone to discuss it first."
"Who is it?" the others asked, curious.
"Hayden. Morgan wants to thank him," she explained.
"Yes," Morgan chimed in quickly. "Hayden has been very kind to me. I can't imagine a day like this without his blessing."
But his words were enough to make Francis' temper explode.
"Invite him? You might as well invite a stray dog!" he snapped. "That piece of trash has no place at such an event! If word got out, I would be embarrassed!
"Don't even think about it. There's no need to disgust yourself," he said coldly, shutting down the idea immediately.
"But Hayden's absence would make me feel like there's something missing in my life!" Morgan insisted. His eyes were brimming with tears, making him look pitiful.
