Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 106

Late at night, the sky seemed like a massive black curtain, obscuring everything.

Hayden gazed at the darkness above, a heavy feeling settling over him. The recent events had left his emotions in turmoil.

Staring into the dark void, he wanted to tear apart the oppressive shroud and release the light hidden behind it.

Suddenly, his phone chimed, breaking the silence. His expression grew sharp when he read the incoming text.

"Sir, someone came by earlier. They just left."

It was from the beggar Hayden had stationed near the truck driver's house to keep watch. At the slightest movement, the man was to notify him immediately.

Hayden's lips curled into a faint smirk. "As expected, you still want me dead," he thought.

It didn't matter if it was his past life or this one—nothing had changed. Everything was still progressing as it had before.

With a calm expression, he transferred 10 thousand dollars to the man, followed by a simple message. "Keep quiet. No one must know of this."

With that handled, he felt a weight lift off his shoulders and returned to bed.

He knew it wouldn't be long before Morgan reached out to him. This time, he intended to teach that brat a proper lesson.

Hayden woke up early, as usual the next morning and started cleaning the house.

Now that he had become something of a freeloader, he took it upon himself to handle the household chores, hoping to lighten the load for his adoptive parents.

After tidying up, he waited patiently. He was curious to see how Morgan planned to contact him.

In his past life, he had still been living in the Sterling residence. At the time, Morgan had approached him to invite him to the birthday party.
