It would seem the old man really had no ties to the Sterling family!
Later, Hayden greeted Wagner and bowed his head. "Sir, are you a practitioner of traditional medicine? Is that woman at risk of dying?" he asked out of curiosity.
"It's uncertain. There's a fine line between life and death. I can't guarantee her life or death. That would be up to fate!" Wagner lamented.
"Fate?"
Hayden was caught off guard by the response. How could one simply let fate decide a matter of life and death? Was this guy a quack?
He unknowingly blurted, "Are you… a medical expert?"
"I know a thing or two!" Wagner smiled with a hint of smugness.
He appeared humble, yet the presence that emanated from him carried great confidence.
Hayden fell silent and didn't question Wagner further, switching the topic instead.
"Sir, it was quite a coincidence for us to run into each other twice. It seems we're fated to meet!" Hayden said with a slight smirk, his gaze sharp as a hawk.
He carefully observed Wagner's shifts in expression, hoping to obtain more information.
However, Wagner merely tilted his head and stroked his beard, then let out a hearty laugh. The entire thing was no coincidence, but merely an act by him. All that was for him to approach Hayden and treat his condition.
However, for reasons of his own, he had to hide the truth from Hayden.
"Kid, if I offer to treat your condition now, will you take it?" Wagner asked with a smile.
"The last time you said I had a hidden condition. Can you tell me more about it?" Hayden asked.
