Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 191

Albert pointed a finger at Morgan and said firmly, his tone resolute, "I've got nothing to hide. I did the right thing."

"Bullshit! I don't even know you!" Morgan snapped, his voice rising. "Quit spewing lies and throwing dirt on my name!"

But his darting eyes gave him away. He avoided holding anyone's gaze for more than a second as he glanced nervously at each person present. Deep down, he was desperate to know what they were thinking.

Were they buying Albert's story? Or worse, did they think he was the mastermind behind it all?

It didn't take long for the others to notice. Every single person there had their eyes locked on Morgan. Their stares said it all—they'd already decided that he was guilty.

"I'm warning you. Don't let them pull your strings!" shouted Francis, his face stern as he turned to Albert. "Teaming up with someone to hurt others is a crime too, and you'll pay the price for it!"

Albert crossed his arms and retorted with a scoff. "If you don't believe me, call the cops. Let them figure it out."

His words came sharp and impatient, showing no hesitation. He had nothing to fear, as he hadn't done anything wrong.

Francis' lips twisted into a sly grin.

"Tell you what," he said, his voice smooth but laced with a hidden agenda. "Be honest with me, and I'll personally give you a hundred thousand dollars. Deal?"

His gaze carried an odd glint that made his intentions all too clear. Anyone with half a brain could tell Francis was trying to buy Albert off. A hundred thousand dollars was more than enough to get him to change his story, and with that, Morgan could walk away scot-free.

But Albert didn't flinch. "No deal. I've already told the truth, and I'm not changing my tune."

His rejection was immediate, with zero hesitation. This wasn't about money for him—it was about his daughter. Thanks to Morgan's help, he finally had the funds he needed for his daughter's medical care. He wasn't about to throw away his integrity now.
