In an instant, the whole place fell silent. Not a single sound could be heard.
Everyone stared at Morgan, wide-eyed.
Was this all a show? What was going on?
This was simply outrageous. It was illegal to hire a hitman.
Morgan had actually wanted to kill this so-called housekeeper friend of his. What kind of grudge did he hold?
"Bullshit! What nonsense are you talking about?" Morgan immediately erupted in fury, his round eyes glaring fiercely at Albert.
Then, he quickly turned around and began to frantically explain everything to Francis and the others.
"Mom, Dad, sis, I didn't do anything! He's slandering me. I don't even know him! Please believe me."
Morgan's feeble explanations failed to hold up any truth. His words were merely a defense. Who couldn't tell that?
Both Anna's and Julia's eyes were filled with disappointment.
They knew the truth—that Morgan wasn't an adopted son. But they never expected him to actually want to kill Hayden. He had to have such a cruel heart to want to do this.
If it weren't for the truck driver's conscience, Hayden would truly have died right there.
Earlier, when Hayden was hugging Morgan because he couldn't bear to part with him, everyone had thought that their brotherly bond was deep.
But Morgan kept struggling and shouting the whole time. This was clearly because he knew about the plan and was fearful of it.
