Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 208

In an instant, a strong killing intent radiated from Hayden's body. His eyes, sharp and fierce like those of a wild beast, seemed to burn with malice.

He held the kitchen knife tightly, its blade shaking slightly. He had never killed anyone, nor had he ever felt the weight of a knife like this before. It felt terrifying, as if, with just a thought, he could take someone's life. But that was not his intention.

What mattered was that he held the knife with unwavering determination. He was there to protect, not to harm.

"Did you hear me clearly?" His voice was cold, his gaze sharp and piercing.

The Sterling women were stunned, their eyes wide with shock. No one had expected him to actually draw a knife. It was such a reckless and dangerous act.

"Calm down! Don't do something foolish!" Julia urged, trying to keep the situation from escalating.

"I am calm. I'm not doing anything foolish!" He raised the knife, pointing it directly at her.

At that moment, she froze, her body trembling in fear. The cold, glinting blade made her feel as if death were just an arm's reach away. She could feel Hayden wasn't joking—this was real.

"Please, don't do anything rash. It's my fault. I didn't explain things clearly to them." Anna burst into tears, her voice shaky. She was completely terrified by what was unfolding.

She had imagined many possible outcomes, but never this one. Had he truly lost his mind?

"Put the knife down. We can talk this through like civilized people. Do you hear me?" Lily's voice trembled as she spoke, fear evident in her shaky words.

"If you want to kill, kill me! This has nothing to do with my daughters. I beg you!" Charlotte quickly stepped forward, shielding her daughters behind her. It was the only thing she could think to do at the moment.

They were stunned by his drastic measures, their hearts gripped with fear.
