"Morgan, I think you're being too soft! Who said that the gem belongs to Hayden? Where did he get the money to buy the gem?
"Do you think the Caldwells would've given him that much money to buy that gem? It's probably the money he stole from us. I'm sure of it!" Lily declared firmly, her tone serious and resolute.
"Huh? Hayden wouldn't do something like that, right? Even though he used to steal things from us in the past, I believe it was because he wanted to collect them! Besides, we have punished him for that back then," Morgan said cautiously.
"Enough!" Charlotte frowned deeply, her patience running thin. She could not bear to hear her son being humiliated by the son of a mistress like that!
"Mom, did I say something wrong?" Morgan asked, his voice trembling as he shivered in fear.
"No. I just think this matter doesn't require so much deliberation. Back at the store, we've already decided on the ownership of the gem. It belongs to Hayden!
"If Mr. Schnapps finds out that we're still thinking of taking the gem from him, what do you think he'll think of us?" Charlotte stated calmly, making up an excuse.
Her words were quite effective, plunging everyone into silence. Francis, especially, was even beginning to shake.
"David… He's quite troublesome indeed, constantly getting in the way like that! However, even if we can't take it from Hayden, it doesn't mean he can't give it to us!"
Francis' sharp eyes gleamed as he came up with an idea. "My birthday is around the corner. It's about time we hosted a banquet! You guys should prepare your gifts, and while you're at it, give Hayden a nudge!"
However, his idea caused Charlotte and her two daughters' expressions to sour immediately.
What kind of idea was that? Making Hayden send a gift in the name of his birthday? To send him a gem worth 300 million? That man must be delusional!
