He would just let them be. This was their fate.
At that very moment, a sharp rapping on the door broke the silence.
Hayden and Christina turned in unison.
A staff member stood at the entrance and said, "Mr. Sterling, there's a call for you. They say they're from the capital and want to invest in the company. They hope to meet this afternoon for a serious discussion!"
The excitement in the staff member's voice was palpable. A potential investment from the capital could mean an entirely new chapter of success for the company.
"Investment?" Hayden raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised.
"If they're from the capital, we should at least hear them out," Christina chimed in, a spark of anticipation flashing in her eyes.
There was no denying that she was intrigued. After all, an investment from the capital could change everything.
"Alright then," Hayden said with a chuckle. "Let's see who has such a sharp vision to want in on our company."
…
Meanwhile, Charlotte had already left with Julia and Anna.
A heavy silence hung inside the car, thick and suffocating.
"Maybe we should give them a chance," Charlotte finally said. Her voice was low and tinged with a quiet sigh. "Maybe they aren't as terrible as you think."
But even she knew that this was a truth she couldn't change.
Julia and Anna sat rigidly, their faces drained of color and their bodies trembling with barely contained fury.
