Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 55

Anna found it hard to believe. Any normal person should know this wasn't right! How could Morgan, of all people, not realize that? He was supposed to be a top student in high school!

Feeling frustrated, Anna continued reading the next page. Hayden's entries were short for several days and mostly filled with complaints.

"I'm exhausted, not feeling well today, and I'm too tired to read.

"I want to cry. This isn't what I imagined at all. I'm done for today.

"Does the protagonist in this book have it as bad as I do? It's ridiculous. I'm not reading anymore!

This pattern carried on for five days until things seemed to improve.

"I'm finally feeling better, so I'll try to catch up on my reading today. The quote, 'I didn't die, thanks to friendship.' fits my situation. My classmate gave me some medicine, and it worked pretty well, though it made me really sleepy.

"I got drowsy during dinner and got scolded again. Morgan told me I should turn the game volume down next time. He said studying late into the night is already hard enough, and playing games would just make me sleepier.

"Of course, Mom, Dad, and my sisters scolded me again. But this time, I didn't get mad. I guess I'm used to it now. Haha, is this my fate? A life full of humiliation."

After reading that entry, Anna felt a strange discomfort settling in her heart. Hayden's illness hadn't gotten better because of his immune system or anything the Sterling family did. It was because someone else had given him medicine.

"I didn't die…"

How ironic. Anna's hands trembled slightly as she turned to the next page.
