After hanging up the phone, James and Serena stood there, stunned.
Then, they exchanged a look, their eyes filled with shock.
"Hayden scored a perfect 100 percent in math?"
"Yes, and he's getting a guaranteed admission too?"
Their excitement was evident as their grins stretched wide across their faces. It was an extremely honorable moment, and they were both overjoyed by Hayden.
"But they mentioned something about needing to talk. Do you think something's wrong?" James wondered aloud, a hint of concern creeping into his voice.
"Whatever it is, let's head over to find out. We should also congratulate him!" Serena urged.
"Alright!" James agreed and quickly got ready. The couple changed into their finest attire—clothes they had carefully chosen years ago for meeting members of the Sterling family.
He put on an elegant suit while she slipped into a fitted dress.
Despite their weathered faces showing signs of age, their figures remained as they once were, and the clothes fit them perfectly.
"Oh my gosh, Dad, Mom, are you two getting married?" Jenny joked as she walked in, taken aback by how dressed up they were. She then sized them up with curious eyes.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Hayden scored a perfect score in math, and it's being recognized during the mock exams. We're going to Riverside High to celebrate!" James and Serena explained.
"You should learn from Hayden—the universities are practically fighting over him, and you need to aim high like he does!"
Hearing about Hayden's achievements, Jenny's face lit up with excitement. "Wow, Hayden is amazing!"
"I want to go too!" she exclaimed, now jumping up and down and insisting on joining them for Hayden's celebration.
