Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 443

Cameron snapped, "You all deserve to go to hell."

Mrs. Dawson chuckled through her tears, "Remember what you said today. I might deserve it, but your father deserves it even more."

A look of despair, deeper than heartbreak, crossed her still-attractive face. It was as if she was back in her student days, in her prime, when a man willingly stepped into her world of poverty.

Back then, her mom was in the ICU, and there was no money for medical bills. Her boyfriend was just as broke as she was. Desperate, she cried her heart out at the hospital's entrance. Griffin saw her, offered a helping hand, and gave her the warmth she so desperately needed, making her addicted to him like a lifeline.

She fell for him. Hard. But just when their love was at its peak, he dropped the bomb—he was already married.

She had slept with him. As a small-town girl who valued her purity above all, after wrestling with her feelings, she decided to stay with him.

He promised that he and his wife were loveless, and they'd eventually divorce. Hanging onto that promise, she waited, day after day. Then her son was born.

Her kindness and forgiveness turned into greed.

If she couldn't have his love, she'd take his wealth. She wanted it all for her child. That's a mother's love.

Thinking about it all, Mrs. Dawson couldn't stop the tears. She eventually became the person she hated the most.

That one-night stand with her first love was supposed to be a tribute to their lost love. But from that single encounter, she got pregnant with his child.

She always thought the child was part of the Dawson legacy.

Life's a cruel joke, huh?

In the end, Cameron didn't strangle her. His stepmom's tears felt like fire on his hands, filling him with a deep sense of dread. He released her, issuing a stern warning, "I heard you've moved a huge chunk of the Dawson family assets? You've got a week to return it all, or else..."
