"Am I really beyond forgiveness?" Cameron's voice wavered, filled with raw emotion. "If I'm willing to spend the rest of my life making it up to her, could she forgive me just this once?"
But Nina wasn’t having it. She turned her back on him, ready to leave. "Please, don't come looking for me anymore. Your presence just upsets my dad."
Cameron’s handsome features darkened, the sting of betrayal sharp in his chest. "Nina, he's not your dad. I am your father," he finally shouted, frustration boiling over.
Nina paused, spun around, and flashed a sweet smile. "Oh, Griffin, you’re such a joker. You've got your own wife, Greta, and no kids with her. My mom's Nathalie, my dad's Nathan. And my full name? Emily Sheridan. How could I possibly be your daughter?"
With that, she skipped away, leaving Cameron standing there, her words echoing hauntingly in his mind.
Something wasn't right, he felt it deep down. As he mulled it over, realization dawned.
This kid might only be two, but she talked and acted like someone with years of experience. Was she, like Nathalie, harboring memories from a past life?
Driven by a sudden desperation, Cameron dashed after her. "Nina!" he called out.
But Nina kept moving, unfazed, heading straight for the exit.
Meanwhile, Dominick and Ford had been searching high and low for her, growing increasingly frantic. Then, to their relief, they spotted Nina strolling out of Dawson International on her own.
Dominick rushed over, practically in tears as he scooped her up. "Nina, where on earth did you go? You almost gave your Uncle Ford a heart attack!"
Nina wrapped her arms around Dominick. "I'm sorry, Uncle. I got lost. Wandered into that building by mistake. It's like a maze in there—I couldn't find my way out for ages."
