Nathalie sauntered over to him with a confident air, her stiletto heel elegantly tilting his chin upwards.
“Cameron, does it sting?” Her voice, as gentle as a whispering breeze, teased his heart like a feather, leaving an itch that couldn’t be ignored.
Cameron shot her a furious glare, his face a picture of raw pain.
Without warning, Nathalie pressed her foot against his face, grinding his head into the ground. The sharp heel made Cameron howl in a mix of agony and humiliation.
“Ah—ahhh—”
Nathalie stepped back, her voice cool. “It should hurt. Cameron, when you ripped my kidney away from me, I felt pain too. And all these years, you’ve never once said sorry. Do you think that, as the high and mighty prince, you’re too good to apologize to someone like me?”
Cameron mumbled, “I’m sorry.”
Nathalie scoffed. “A sorry like that? Who’d care?” Her mischievous side flared up. “What do you say we even the score? You took a kidney from me; maybe I should mess up one of yours?”
Cameron fixed his gaze on Nathalie, the playful yet vengeful sparkle in her eyes sending chills down his spine.
“Nathalie, what happened to you?”
Nathalie replied, “Didn’t you push me to this? If you’d kept your word after taking my kidney, cut ties with Greta, and devoted yourself to me, I wouldn’t be filled with this rage. Or if you and Greta had shown any gratitude for saving your life and treated Nathan kindly, I would have quietly retreated with him to live a peaceful life. But you both had to ruin it all. Cameron, what’s happening to you now is all your own doing.”
Miranda, standing nearby, was stunned...
The woman they’d always underestimated had finally shown her true strength.
Miranda shrieked in horror, “Oh my God, what have we done to deserve this? Nathalie, karma’s gonna catch up with you.”
Cameron’s face was bruised and swollen, his eyes reduced to narrow slits. He squinted at Nathalie, making her feel sick.
“Cameron, stay far away from me from now on.”
“And don’t touch me with those filthy hands of yours. God, I feel sick for days after you lay a finger on me.”
Cameron widened his eyes as much as he could. “You…”
Once a couple, they now knew exactly which words would cut the deepest.
