Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 801

"That day, we threw a big dinner party at our place, and it was buzzing with guests."

"I had one too many drinks, and since I'm not much of a drinker, I figured I'd head to my room to crash."

"But I stumbled into the wrong room and, in my foggy state, ended up falling asleep next to Morris. When his dad found out, no matter how much I tried to explain, he wouldn't believe me. He was convinced I was having an affair with my stepson. He completely lost it, pushed him down the stairs, and punished him the entire night. Since then, the poor kid's been withdrawn and disabled."

As Nathalie listened, it felt like someone had doused her with a bucket of ice-cold water.

She was shell-shocked, just standing there.

Paige, thinking Nathalie wasn't buying her story, went on, "Ever since then, the father and son have been at odds. Morris, out of revenge, took down his dad's company."

Nathalie clenched her hands so tightly her nails dug into her palms, her eyes suddenly bloodshot. She lost it, ripping off her cast and slapping Paige repeatedly. "This is all your fault! Why didn't you stand up for him?"

"You and your husband are disgusting, picking on a defenseless kid."

Paige's cries echoed through the room.

Sarah jumped out of bed, worried Nathalie might really hurt Paige, and dashed next door to grab the frenzied Nathalie in a tight hug.

"Ashley, take it easy."

Seeing Sarah, maybe it was the kindness in her eyes that calmed Nathalie. She broke down in her arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

Sarah led Nathalie out of the salon, and they found a quiet café where Nathalie slowly calmed down.

She wiped her tears away with a wry smile, apologizing to Sarah, "Sorry for the drama."

Sarah looked at Nathalie with admiration, "Ashley, I love how straightforward you are."

Nathalie explained, "I know you're probably wondering why someone like me, the Stewart family's eldest daughter, would leave a comfortable life to help a prisoner with no future. I'll tell you why: he never gave up on me when I was at my lowest. He helped me earn enough to live comfortably and even helped me find my family. He saved me. How could I turn my back on him now?"

Moved, Sarah responded, "Ashley, I'm in. I'm going to help you."

Nathalie was thrilled. "Sarah, why?"
