Chapter 186 Are You Foolish?

Holly was seething with anger, throwing insults at Kate, which surprised her.

When the bodyguard heard the furious exchange, his face turned stern, and he quickly slapped. Holly across the face.

“Ah!” Holly screamed sharply, the sound of the slap echoing in her ears.

She looked at the bodyguard in shock, and before she could say anything, she received another firm slap on her other cheek.

The bodyguard kept hitting Holly repeatedly until her face swelled up, making it hard for her to speak clearly with blood in her mouth.

“Is this how you react when you’re embarrassed?” Kate remarked, her voice dripping with iciness as Holly coughed up blood, her expression one of sheer terror. “What exactly have you done for Summer Estate over the last three years that gives you the right to try and guilt–trip me? To even talk badly about me and Eric. Holly, that’s pretty bold of you.”

Filled with anger and fear, Holly was shocked to see Kate watching while the bodyguard kept hitting her.

When did she become so uncaring?

She thought that she could win over her support by acting like a victim and tugging at Kate’s heartstrings. However, she didn’t anticipate Kate being so cold–blooded.

“Get rid of her. She’s bad luck.”

Kate sneered and walked off while the bodyguards dragged the battered Holly and tossed her out through the hospital’s back entrance.

Holly lay on the ground in a sorry state, hurriedly wrapping a scarf around her face. Even if she didn’t hide it, nobody would recognise her.

Remembering how Kate had humiliated her, Holly found herself wishing she could rip Kate’s face off.

Buzz…

Her phone vibrated in her pocket. With a sense of dread, Holly pulled out her phone, shaking at the sight of the caller ID. Recognising Ruth’s name on the screen felt like finding a beacon of hope. She quickly answered, “Ruth, are they letting you out of the precinct?”

On the other side, Ruth had just exited the police station, feeling frustrated at Holly’s words.

Why was she being asked about leaving when she was still practically there?
