Simon watched Yves suddenly start smirking, then let out a chuckle. “Oh, losing your cool? Looks like the girl means more to Eric than we thought.”

“Scared? Why would I be? Scared of Eric? Please, he’s nobody trying to act all high and mighty.”

“Well, we’ll just see about that! While the rest might be wary of Eric, me? Yves? Not a chance!”

After hanging up the call, Yves turned his icy gaze to Simon, lurking in a corner, and casually waved him over.

Despite all the red flags in his mind, Simon’s expression tightened as he walked over.

Yves grabbed Simon by the collar, reeking of booze, and said in a chilling tone, “Simon, haven’t I always been good to you?”

Simon shivered and quickly slapped on a sycophantic grin. “Mr. Younghusband, you’ve been more than generous. What do you need? I’ll do whatever you ask!”

Yves gave Simon a smirk that sent chills down his spine and said leisurely, “Remember you said that.”

Letting Simon go, Yves settled back onto the couch, crossing his legs and fixing Simon with a menacing look. “I’ve got business at headquarters. As for Capital City, it’s all yours.”

“I’ve heard Kate’s planning to start her own brand, and Eric, with the Lowe Group, is all in on backing her. Go and mess it up.”

Yves’s instructions were light yet filled with a sure–fire conviction.

Simon was shocked. “Kate’s launching her own brand?”

How had this news slipped by him?

Yves sneered contemptuously, “That girl just aced the international design contest, so naturally,

Yves laughed, abruptly stood up, and then clapped Simon on the shoulder hard twice before roaring with laughter and exiting the room.
