Kate couldn’t hide her grin as Eric polished off the chicken soup, surprising him with a quick peck on the cheek. Her eyes sparkled playfully. “Eric, you’re such a sweetheart.”

Getting called a ‘sweetheart‘ was a new experience for Eric, catching him off guard. He paused for a beat, his cheeks flushing as he gathered his composure.

Coughing lightly, he caught Kate’s attention. “Kate?”

“Yeah?”

She looked up from tending to the thermos, their eyes meeting. In a gentle tone, he asked, “After clinching the international design contest, what’s next for you?”

“I’ve got a few thoughts.”

Kate hastily finished her task and moved a chair closer to Eric’s hospital bed. She shared her vision with conviction. “Eric, I’m thinking of launching my own design firm and brand. I’ve had a couple of design ideas for some time now that I believe would make a perfect debut collection.”

Nodding in support, Eric said, ‘Davison Group will back you up completely.”

A bright smile lit up Kate’s face. “That’s exactly what Hendrick said.”

“And what did Hendrick say?” Eric inquired.

Just then, Hendrick entered, curiosity marking his face as he looked at Kate and Eric.

With a smile, Kate announced, “We were just talking about me starting my own business and brand. Eric said Davison Group would support me all the way.”

Hendrick gave a supportive nod. “And naturally, Lowe Group will offer its full support, too.”

“Muse, you can count me in as well! KM is fully behind you,” Miles announced as he leaned in from the doorway, offering a friendly wave.

Kate let out a small laugh but quickly adopted a more serious demeanour. “I really appreciate your support. However, I’m determined to build this brand on my own.”

“I’ve been saving up for years, enough to jumpstart a new project. And even if things don’t go as planned, I know I have you all by my side.”

Watching his sister, Hendrick couldn’t hide his bemusement. “You’re just as headstrong as your brother, right?”
