Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 252

"Hmph, seems like you're getting a kick out of threatening me lately," Neil suddenly sat up, turned towards me, and I held my breath.

He was the one who started threatening me, and I was just fighting back. Nothing wrong with that.

After a minute or two of standoff, Neil picked up my phone. The screen lit up, and there it was, the screensaver I had never bothered to change.

It was from the winter before our divorce, the night I threatened Neil into building a snowman with me, captured by the surveillance cameras in our yard.

I hadn't changed the screensaver, not because I couldn't let go of our relationship, but simply because I liked the scene in the picture. It was a rare moment of intimacy between Neil and me.

"So, you still can't bring yourself to change it, huh?" Neil asked me.

"It's just a screensaver," I responded calmly, "not changing it only proves that I've moved on from you. I don't need to deliberately avoid my memories."

My reasoning seemed to upset Neil. He tossed my phone aside and said, "I don't agree with that."

Whether he agreed or not was his problem, not mine.

Just as I was deep in thought, Neil suddenly kissed me. He bit my lip intentionally, hard enough to make me tear up.

I wanted to fight back, but Neil had pinned my hands, and my injured legs were immobile. I had no choice but to surrender.

Neil's kiss was fierce and rough, devoid of any tenderness. It was filled with a sense of revenge and punishment. I felt like he was sucking the life out of me. I was sure I would pass out if he didn't let go.

Finally, he let go of my lips, but his warm breath was still lingering on my neck and chest. I couldn't help but curse, "You're such a beast!"

"Really?" Neil paused and had the audacity to reply, nearly choking me with his response.

"You're not comfortable right now, but if you continue to upset me, I won't mind returning the favor," Neil said shamelessly.

If during my past life, Bonnie hadn't intentionally gotten close to Neil but was forced to, I could now somewhat understand how helpless she must have felt back then.

Facing this rich and influential beast, even I was powerless, let alone an ordinary college girl?

I was seething with anger, but I couldn't risk provoking Neil into doing something outrageous. So, I swallowed my pride.

"Would you like to see your father?" Neil released my hands, laid back down, and his voice returned to its normal calm.

I was taken aback and remained silent.

Neil raised an eyebrow, "Don't look at me like that. If you want to see him, just let me know. I can arrange it."

"You..." I tried to speak, but words escaped me.

I really wanted to see my father, but all my attempts had been fruitless. Even Stella Wallace and her team had tried to investigate the matter, but as Harold said, someone was purposely suppressing the information, making it difficult to uncover the truth.

I couldn't figure out who Bonnie and Gloria were connected to, but their companies were thriving.

"I have a condition." Neil's gaze was deep, "I want you to stay here with me for a month. I guarantee I won't do anything inappropriate."

My hopes were instantly shattered.

Seeing my disappointment, Neil tried to tempt me, "What about twenty days? Don't you want to ask your father what happened? Don't you want to see how he's doing in prison?"

"Stop!" I interrupted Neil, not wanting to be swayed again, "My father wouldn't want me to have anything to do with you. My mother is in the hospital because I asked for your help."

Neil fell silent, his eyes cold. The atmosphere became tense.
