Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 253

After sending the message, a half-peeled egg was placed in front of me. Neil retracted his hand, saying, “Eat up.”

“I can peel it myself.” I realized I was quite stubborn. No matter what Neil did, I felt like giving him a piece of my mind.

Neil raised an eyebrow, “Then peel it yourself and walk out when you’re done.”

He was just taking advantage of my temporary immobility, threatening me every now and then.

I couldn't walk out myself, and Bailey couldn't come in to fetch me. In the end, I still had to rely on Neil.

Suppressing my growing anger, I grabbed the egg and finished it in one bite. The next second, Neil pushed a sandwich towards me, “Keep eating.”

“Cough, cough…” I choked on the egg and started coughing, trying to feel better.

Under Neil's urging, I ate quite a bit, even finishing with a cup of hot milk. I was starting to feel stuffed.

The servant who had spoken highly of Neil last night was looking at me with a smile, her eyes filled with teasing.

“Alright, hurry and take me out.” I intentionally ignored the servant's gaze, urging Neil.

Neil stood up, seemingly unfazed by the gazes of others. He picked me up and started heading outside.

It had rained all night, and the ground was wet.

Cold air crept into my collar, making me shiver.

Neil navigated through the puddles, carrying me to his car.

As the car arrived outside Sterling Estates, I caught sight of my own car. Bailey was standing outside, waiting for me.

Neil's car slowed down, and Bailey immediately came over to open the door for me. “Ms. Finch, what happened? Why did you suddenly want a wheelchair?”

“I twisted my ankle, having some trouble moving.” I reached out my hand, “Can you help me out of the car?”

Bailey nodded and wanted to help me, but Neil pulled him back, “I can help her.”

Before Bailey could react, Neil had already lifted me out and transferred me to my own car.

Bailey followed us silently. Once I was settled, he didn't say anything to Neil. He just got in the car and drove off.

“Bailey, you’ve had a hard time recently.” I sighed with my eyes closed.

It indeed had been busy recently, with Bailey chauffeuring me around frequently, but he never complained.

“Ms. Finch, it's what I should do.” Bailey replied, “But why were you with him?”

I opened my eyes, remembering what Neil had said about seeing my father. I sighed, “It’s a long story.”

Bailey didn’t probe further. I knew no matter what I did, he would always stand by me.

The night at Sterling Estates felt like a dream. I cleared my thoughts and plunged back into work. Amid the busyness, my sprained ankle gradually healed.

When Stella chatted with me, she gossiped a lot about Kitty, all related to her and Neil.

“Rena, she’s no ordinary person! I looked up her identity and was shocked!” Stella exclaimed on the phone.

“What happened?” I asked while eating.
