"Some people's lives are all about chasing guys. Eh, there's nothing wrong with fancying blokes, but when you start using shady tactics, it's hard not to look down on that!" Kitty propped up her chin and said, "I remember there was an audio clip that got leaked. It seemed to expose Ms. Tueley's sneaky tricks…"
"Shut up!" Bonnie was pissed off, she gritted her teeth and told Kitty.
Kitty shot me a grin, then pulled a funny face. She was clearly trying to wind Bonnie up.
I found her quite entertaining. No wonder Neil found her annoying yet still hung out with her.
Kate had a tight grip on Bonnie's arm.
I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, but ever since she became chummy with Bonnie, she seemed a bit gloomier.
She shot me a hostile look and advised Bonnie, "Don't waste your time on her, let's go."
"Yeah, Louis is waiting for us. As long as I'm here, I guarantee you'll get more chances to chat with Neil. You guys can take things to the next level, don't worry!" Malinda confidently reassured, thumping her chest.
She was right. As long as Louis Aldridge was in the picture, Bonnie would always have a chance to interact with Neil.
Neil and Louis had been buddies since childhood. He wouldn't dissolve this friendship without a major disagreement.
However, did Neil know about Louis meeting his enemy before?
On second thought, Louis was quite a suspicious character, but it was not my place to dig deeper.
"Let's go." Bonnie said and turned to leave. But the next moment, she stumbled and fell, crying out in pain.
Right then, Neil, Louis, and Cooper Clarke appeared at the door. We were right in their line of sight, and they could see Bonnie's fall.
Louis was the most concerned. He rushed over, first asked if Malinda needed anything, then helped Bonnie up, "Bonnie, are you okay?"
Malinda suddenly pointed at me, "Did you trip her on purpose, causing her to fall?"
Bonnie was quite hard on herself. She deliberately took a fall, causing a bruise on her forehead.
"I'm fine; Irene probably didn't trip me on purpose." Bonnie was helped up and replied weakly.
Kate accused me angrily, "Bonnie just had a few words with you. Did you really have to do something so spiteful?"
I tried this tripping revenge tactic back in primary school, and sometimes I'm really amazed at how these three women think.
Neil and Cooper also rushed over. It was quite embarrassing for them, with their status, to be dragged into this drama in full public view.
But after all, Malinda was Louis's girlfriend. They couldn't say much.
Neil glanced at me, then at my foot. My sprained ankle was almost healed, but if I really tripped Bonnie with force, I would definitely feel the pain too.
"Neil, your ex sure has a questionable character!" Kitty stood up, walked over to Neil, and shook her head, "She's grown up, yet she still uses childish tactics to frame people. How did you ever fancy someone with such a low IQ?"
Neil shot Kitty a glance, "Why is it any of your business?"
Bonnie looked at Neil pleadingly, "Neil, I once liked you. Does that embarrass you?"
Liking someone was not embarrassing at all, but what Bonnie did was indeed revolting.
I saw Kitty's face turn a shade paler. She stared at Neil's hand, her eyes full of shock and disappointment.
Seeing that I was looking at her, she quickly suppressed her emotions and smiled at me.
I remembered one morning a while back, I saw Kitty leaving Neil's place. Neil letting her stay overnight meant she was special to him.
The two of them…actually make a good match. I believe Neil's parents would agree.
"Neil, this earring isn't mine. Are you sure you didn't make a mistake?" I smiled and denied ownership of the earring.
Neil's gaze turned deep; he didn't pull his hand back, nor did he say anything else.
I gave Kitty and Cooper a nod, and then I was out.
If there was a woman in this world who I think could be a match for Neil, who I could genuinely bless to be his partner, that woman would probably be Kitty.
Kitty's personality always reminded me of my old self. I used to be that tangled up over Neil too.
Outside the restaurant, the afternoon sun was warm; my feelings were mixed but also relieved.
I was on my way to the company when I got a call. It was Chloe Reynolds. "Ms. Finch, where are you?" she sounded a bit urgent.
"I'm driving; what's up?" I asked.
"Russel suddenly disappeared. I haven't seen his shadow in the past two or three days, and can't reach him on his phone either. Has he come to you? Can you find him?" Chloe asked anxiously.
